If am friends with a former Roanoke Valley head coach, and Stiney would always stop by even if the school had not a sniff of a D-1 prospect. This particular coach told me Stiney was a great guy- really liked him.

I respect the hell out of Jim Grobe and what he did at Wake Forest. It's a loss to their program and to the ACC.
Class guy that brought a blue collar work ethic to a white collar school-(I have a degree from there, so I can bust on my Deac's a little.)
Wake Forest has a pretty poor history in football and Grobe brought some respectability.
I'm sorry to see him go.

If I were a USC fan, I wouldn't be super excited about this. To me, this seems like an administration trying to recapture the Carroll "glory years" by hiring one of his past assistants instead of looking at the best candidates available (*Jame Franklin* cough cough). Reports are that the USC admin had their eyes on Sark the whole time. Not saying he hasn't done well at Wash, or that he has no chance of succeeding - just that I doubt they did their due dilligence, and suspect they may be looking backwards instead of forwards here.

I'm willing to bet that Sarkisian wanted his own guys. Clean sweep and a fresh start. Orgeron said he wanted to stay on a la Stiney (my words, not his).

I don't blame him. He should have gotten a shot. He took a five alarm dumpster fire and got it down to a stovetop grease accident.

To be honest, in my mind this job is a perfect fit for Bud Foster.

A strong academics school, an AD who has faith in his coaches, a team within a state with a lot of good talent, and it's only approx. an hour and a half away from Foster's lake house (also only 2 hours away from Blacksburg).

Wake wants to ratchet up competition after seeing the success that the other NC teams have had this year, and Foster's defense shut down UNC, and held Duke to 13 points - it's lowest all year.

Keep an eye on this one.

To me it really pissed me off. London quit when Watford came out. It was a disgrace that we had to play against Lambert, that we only held the game even with Lambert in there. It said alot about the state of Virginia football frankly. I know we won but this game upset me more than any other game this season.

That we went all conservative on offense drove me more beserk. This is a showcase for why kids from Virginia want to stay in state and play for each team. I think we did some interesting stuff early but I wanted far more aggression. When Lambert came in we should have gone for broke. I know our RB was out and it probably didn't make sense from a risk reward perspective. But this was not a good showcase for Virginia football. I had to go lift. Will be sore for a week.

If I'm the offensive coordinator for UVa, I would...well, I really don't know what I would do.

I guess I'm just really thankful that I'm not the offensive coordinator at UVa.

The biggest reason I could see for JMU not hiring Shane or Stiney is the fact that JMU hired two VT coaches in the off-season, and what good did that do?

Wrestling doesn't have a final four. It's just a giant tournament at each weight class, and the performance by individual wrestlers determines your team score.

Btw im pretty sure I read an article Of Ford's coach somewhere and he said he lets Ford call his own plays at the line of scrimmage. Ill have to try and find that

Maybe its the color schemes, but IMO the opening is similar to Vandy's a couple of years ago. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if they went after an up-and-coming coordinator.

Though I doubt it would happen, could you imagine Chad Morris running his system at Wake? Or Tony Franklin? With the right players, they would at least be a little intimidating...
