Here's the issue I see (and its importance may not matter if Duke is competitive against FSU): Bowl games, especially recently, have been driven by the ability to sell tickets. It has helped us A LOT recently. Last time I checked, Duke hasn't exactly traveled well. Hell, when they played Bama last year they made concessions so more Bama fans could attend the game, park their RV's, etc. If I'm the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, I'm scared of inviting Duke unless the SEC opponent is a big draw and can ensure that the game sells out. I'm not even convinced aTm would be that team (USC-E would).

He should close his gap.
Its closing as fast as a glacier ... or a turtle climbing Everest.

closing or not- it's pretty frick'n lame when you pride yourself
in losing just a little bit less crappily than previous years.
Call a (real) cop.

Getting trounced right now, 59-41.....All this time you folks have to ruminate over our Bowl destination, spend some of it helping out the HokieBird to win over the South Florida Bull....

25 points for every twitter post of what the HokieBirds Playoff Superstitions are. If you post them here, I will put them up on Twitter.

100 points for posting a photo on Twitter or Facebook of you sporting a playoff beard (Ladies are directed to get creative)

Make sure you put #CapitalOneHokie @TheHokieBird in either post so that the mascot gets credit for it.

..and this post makes me appreciate 1000x times more how our staff stood by Logan through thick and thin.

Granted, we were never 2-10 and Logan is way better than either of these clowns...but the point is our staff handled this well and Logan's confidence was never shaken cause they never put Leal in when we were down by 10 in the 4th.

This is exactly what I was thinking. This allows Shane to do what he does best and may create an opening for a top-notch RB coach. There has been a lot of criticism of Shane's job with the RBs and this could be a win-win.

That said I agree that Stiney will be missed as a recruiter.

I agree- I'm just concerned a bit with his footwork. I just don't know if he's transferring his weight correctly. That being said, if he's not pushed into starting to quickly, I'm sure those problems can be resolved relatively painlessly

Particularly that guy.
He basically runs the gametime offense with help from his OC as a spotter and providing ideas.

You see him direct the offense after the huddle? changing where guys lineup and their assignments? He's got hand signals for his WRs so he can change their route just before hiking the ball.

And he wins ball games doing it.
I bet he's in on the discussions with the coaches talking about what their needs are and the possible player fills.
I can hear it now, last Winter.
"Hey, P., New England put Welker up for sale, waddaya think?"
Manning - "A team oriented veteran that catches balls like that AND with balls of brass? I'm not worried about taking Brady's castoffs, I want him here and nowhere else."
"Okay, P. We'll get him on the phone right now."
