Heh...Hagans...the WR coach now, because that's working out for him.
I love that my high school beat him in the state semi-finals in 1999, and then two years later, I got to see the Hokies beat him down in my first UVA/Tech game.
But isn't that part of the fun? I know when he took the kickoff reverse some of the announcers were lauding his praises and his versatility. Part of the fanfare is the fact that he is a walk-on, works hard, and is the kind of 'every-man' that a blue collar fanbase like VT loves. Forum's like this give the legend room to grow.
We were just there in August, in the CFA "Preseason" Bowl. So, that is going against us.
But how many times has Miami played in the CFA Preseason game? None times. Why? Because they don't have fans. Real live fans. They don't have any. (I also think the conservative CFA corporation protects their brand and Miami's "values" are .....um....divergent)
Duke's an interesting story. They certainly have fans, but they aren't football fans. Maybe all those Duke hoops fans would buy bowl tix? Maybe. But nobody would watch them on TV because Duke football is literally a joke. Lets see how much FSU embarresses them too.
My favorite part is where they compare LOLUVA to Stanford, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, and Notre Dame. LOLUVA is not at that level academically IMO.
I like the kid, but it has gotten a little ridiculous. The kid has done a good job, but he still has to be better as a lead blocker (primary job) and needs to be accounted for in more offensive situations. He can be really good, but some of the buzz has reached silly proportions. I am sure Jarrett Ferguson, Bryan Edmunds, and Marcus Parker are chuckling a bit.
Not knocking Shane, just saying he is not lighting UVA up. Its Foster and his D that have been tormenting UVA for the Decade of Dominance. Shane will get things right, I'm sure. But its not like he is the causing them problems, he is just there to break up fights.
Two things:
1) Outkicked the coverage
2) Said coverage had 7 OL's or DL's, a kicker, and a holder. (9 out of 11 had very little chance of catching him)
2009 - VT started and ended the season in a Chick-fil-a game...Alabama, and then Tennessee. Plus, we had the trip to GT in the middle.
2012 - Clemson bookended their season with games in Atlanta vs. Tiger teams from the SEC.
So, Chick-fil-a doesn't care if a team was in the kickoff game when picking for the bowl game.
Wonder how Griffith felt after that hit? What a play.... too bad I missed it, but wouldnt trade seeing that live on TV over being at the inauguration of VT into the #decadeofdominance
By the way, the title of this post is incorrect. Gray has not been named a finalist, he has been named a nominee, of which there are about 25. They will shorten to a list of 5 soon and then pick one.
Dude, Miami doesn't go to their own games in Miami. The last two years that we've been down there, the stands have been empty, and that's just what I've see by watching on ESPN.
At least the RAB knows what they have in Tech based on last year, and with us being 8-4 instead of 6-6, we might have a better showing.
I like this idea! Let's make THIS happen!

I expect nothing less than Rodgers started at RB for the bowl game, taking kickoffs and punts.
drop bat..circle bases
Completely agree - should have clarified a little better to a wasted scholarship at QB.

You are on to something here..play up that he took an SEC school to a bowl game...don't mention anything else
Bob Diaco, ND's D-Coordinator, won last year. He'd be the favorite to take over for UVA if they did fire London this offseason. Kirby Smart won three years ago, he'd take over for Saban if Nick went to the NFL.
Not sure how you can say that VY was overrated. Go back and look at his line for the National Title game against USC. His NFL career yes, total bust. But the guy was a great college QB.

The dearth they have had at QB has caused the vast majority of their issues. The QB's since Schaub:
Watford, Lambert, Rocco, Sims, Metheny, Lalich, Hagans, Sewell, Verica, (Vic Hall)
Rocco is by far the best QB of the bunch! Michael Rocco! Sewell, Verica, Hagans....these are all guys who started multiple games against VT!
Hasnt exactly been handed an easy situation though. If I was Lambert and Mike London put me in on the two yard line with Bane Gayle breathing down my neck I would have flipped him the double bird and walked off the field.
Well, I suppose David Wilson would've passed 1000 yards no matter who the RB coach was...
There will be no update this week, I'm about to go out of town for the week. I will be (half assing) the 6 pick tonight however.

Great videos as always phreak. It's amazing how this year we turned the red zone into the we can't score zone. I know we won and I'm glad we finished the decade of dominance, but we should have scored a couple more touchdowns. I still don't think Logan's knee was down, but I guess with the weight of a Sam Rogers pass, they just assumed he was down.
