The comments about London's inability to manage the clock really hit home with me. I'm sure Mike London has forgotten more about football than I will ever know, but even I could manage the clock better than he does. And he makes the same mistakes over and over. I hope he stays at UVa FOREVER!

As long as his name is not Steinspring, then yes, I'd prefer that they stay and coach. But, alas, his name was never on anyone's short list...ever!!

p.s. Save me the 'great recruiter' reaction.

In this case it would be easy to identify a spasm producing point in the game.
If Alabama makes this FG in what is obviously the last play of the game.
There was a delay prior to this as there was an argument to get 1 second on the clock, etc.
Plenty of time to grab yer cell phone camera.

A couple of the places had a mix of Auburn and Alabama fans. In any case, the place was going to have some emotion.
If I was in that situation and not a big fan of either team, I certainly would have had a camera rolling.

This is an interesting question. I think Bud wants to be the man, but a HC is a CEO, kissing babies, posing for pictures, waxing eloquent about how "Team X..they'll get afta ya. A well coached team..a lot of respect for that program and what they are doin' down there...". Foster is a great defensive coach, one of the best minds in the game as evidence by turning out top ranked units year after year even as the game has changed to be more wide-open spread attacks. He owns CPJ and his option attack as evidence by the record.

He would absolutely be the fan favorite to be HC in Blacksburg, and the fans would love him. But I wonder if he can handle the politics of being a HC. Hopefully he gets that chance. I'd hate for him to leave and then have the job passed down to Shane. I think you need to cut your teeth being a successful coordinator before you get a bump up to HC. Going to be interesting, you never want to be the guy who replaces THE GUY. Better to have a buffer in there, going to be a heavy crown to wear when Frank hangs it up.

I have no idea how next year will go. You can probably run a more dynamic offense through Leal but in terms of consistency and presence Ford may already have the advantage and he has not even set foot in Blacksburg. It's an excellent problem to have though. Its always beneficial to have two players trying to outwork each other.

I would be 0% surprised if Hodges or Motley wins the job, though. I think it's a 4 way battle.

First off, VY was overrated. Even in college. I think Johnny football is just a bit better than he is. Secondly, what would be better than to have our nasty D knock him put of the game (not on purpose of course). I'd love a crack at him. Expose him. Hell, after bamy he basically got plowed by the rest of the Ds from the $ec (case in point, LSU). LSU is practically begging for him to come back next season because they p*wn his sorry ass. Foster and Co can take him.

I'm wondering why more people haven't mentioned this. I think he looks good in the video, just not one snap taken from under center.

I would guess the main reason has to do with recruiting. Assuming "reason" has anything to do with it.

Totally agree. Remember, the bowl selection picked us for a BCS bowl a few years back. We bring the fans, bring in TV ratings, and we beat Miami by double digits. If Miami had Duke Johnson, they could market the game as Jonny Football vs. Johnson as an offensive battle. Logan Thomas is a recognizable figure (not the best college QB, but people know the name). This D is top 10 and can contrast the high scoring offense with an aggresive defense, which builds in some story lines. Miami is a bigger historic draw, but people know now what they are, a mid level ACC team, as evidence by never finishing higher than 3rd in the Coastal in the last decade.

I really really like Shai's film. He's very shifty. Ideally he and MMFW would develop into a Darren Evans/RMFW duo.

You can never have too many RB's.

Exactly what I was thinking, especially given the uniforms. He moves really well in the pocket, but is he any threat to scramble? Is Lefty looking to develop him into a manning pure pocket passer, or an Andrew Luck version, with the scrambling threat as well.

I'd like to get after him too, but considering this defense made CJ Brown look like Vince Young 2.0, I'd don't want to give that a-hole a chance to strut around and recently ATL is where Hokie dreams go to get crushed. But that is the pessimist in me, if we had a chance at him I hope the D would seize it and dominate.

The QB debate next year between the limited-yet-experienced senior and the unrefined-yet-promising freshman will last all year.
