Once in a while turned out to be 4 or 5 straight years of turning to a 5th year walk on and them doing exceptionally well. Cody I think was the first scholarship kicker in quite some time if ever at Tech.

Teams should take a chance on guys like Gayle, Tyler, Edwards, Collins and Fuller. I think we will have a lot more than normal go to those senior bowl games just to showcase what they can do.
FWIW, my Keydet dad thinks the Hokie fan base sometimes acts too spoiled. We've had two decades of winning seasons, and that's pretty darn good. He always rolls his eyes when someone calls for Beamer & Staff to be axed after a rough loss.
Regarding his school, he really wishes they'd just go D-III in Football.
This situation reminds me (scarily) like DeShazo's senior year. He had a few games where he was a dumpster fire (orange unis UVA for example) and the staff didn't pull him (even if just for a series). We (fans) were all clamouring for him to sit (even temporarily) before his confidence was completely distorted.
We all thought back up must have been really terrible.
Turns out it was some guy named Jim Drunkenmiller. He turne out to be pretty okay.
Not saying Leal is the seconding coming or anything. Just saying you don't know what you've got until you put him on the field.
I love that most of it is teams mentioned and ours is the offense. It really has become comical that our offense can be this bad and yet show so much promise.
Isn't that considered a penalty now having both teams wear home jerseys? Didn't UCLA and USC do it recently to bring back an old tradition and one of the teams had to forfeit a timeout? But yes I agree with the post above, that would be one sexy looking game.
Difference is F$U won a lot of games last year. They weren't trailing dook 13-0 and throwing interceptions like mardigras beads.
