That almost got a down vote from me. Never again to O'Cainspring. Give Loeffler and Grimes at least a year or 2. I like our playcalling a lot better this year than the last four. Saturday's problem for the most part wasn't the calls it was Logan's execution.
And since it uses pounds, the most ambiguous and moronic unit ever not counting those that are derived from it, it can vary with gravity depending on how it's defined (lbf, lbm, slug, fuck it all). So 1 BTU at sea level is different than 1 BTU on the ISS or on Mars. I'm sure there is a standard of using lbm, but in my happy world pound varies with gravitational acceleration, because science is supposed to make sense.
Every time at work I hear the words "pound" and "mass" used interchangeably I want to choke someone.
Ha ha, true.
'Remember how I told you to do all of those things? Well, now I want you to do the opposite.'
Is it his fault the receivers tip the ball and the dbs pick off a deflected pass? No!
Except it was in just about every case on Saturday - he threw to a blanketed receiver often in double coverage. He was forcing throws and they were getting tipped and bounced around. He got away with a few as well. Several of these plays also had open receivers elsewhere, but he wasn't progressing through his reads and keying on one guy. That is his fault. Not saying he's a terrible QB or Person, but he was the primary reason we lost that game - even with his yardage totals.
Part of the problem is that Logan doesn't seem to take enough snaps from under center for it not to be obvious what is coming.
Do they have a tight end under center? Do they have tight ends peppering their offensive line? I like LT3 a lot. I'm not one of the LT3 haters on here but he is NOT a quarterback. Loeffler didn't throw 4 interceptions. Loeffler didn't miss 2 field goals. Loeffler put our players in position to make plays. We had over 300 yards of offense. We had a touchdown called back by a penalty. We had an interception in the end zone. We missed two make-able field goals. That game could have ended very differently and nobody would be complaining about the offensive coaching. I think the previous staff seriously underestimated the importance of having a big strong o-line. The guys that are playing now are playing well for the most part, but most of them aren't playing in their natural positions. We have a true freshman at left guard. Our offense just doesn't have the personnel needed to be successful. I don't care if you brought chad morris in here...he would still be struggling to find ways to win with what has been left behind by ocainspringsome. Calm down and give Loeffler and co some time. Everyone can't be expecting a miracle worker to come in and turn things around in <8 games. If our offense is still inept in 2 or 3 years with Loefflers recruits, then we have a serious issue. For now, give him a break. It's hard to sword fight with a piece of aluminum foil.
Turkey leg for you! I'll be wearing my "Fuck Miami" t-shirt in two weeks... I also have a couch that I am saving to burn when we beat WVU in 2021.
True by 3 HUGE reasons.
1.) 0 3rd down conversions for Duke the ENTIRE GAME.
2.) 0 Completions in the 2nd half.
3.) Held Duke to 198 yards on the game and 4TO's
Our Defense did their job and forced Duke to play their worst game of the year. The offense had 2 WEEKS to prepare for Duke's lackluster defense and pooped an egg.
Sean Glennon never lost to Duke....
We have more than just Cinci 95 as examples of games we just didn't show up for. I think the only time I've felt good about playing Cinci was the time we played them for our bowl game.
Yep... Even LOLUVA scored on Duke, but we didn't... They have a new OC this year; their O has improved a bunch since the beginning of the year, we look the same or worse, with no real increase I yardage or scoring production...
What got to me about Boise though was they coughed it up later in the season. Bama, LSU, USC, etc, all went on to win the BCS championship after they played us.
Fucking orange pants.
As long as the networks don't put a bye week in front of ACCCG. Give the Time Machine to the Defense so they can get some rest.
And we will continue to not be an elite team until these hiccups stop happening. Our best team in recent memory lost to JMU, example A. But as far as this season was concerned, I don't think anybody thought we had the chance to be great, and even after a 6-1 start, we were delusional if we thought we still had the chance to be great.
How about Boise St. or JMU?
I don't know why you guys are arguing about this. The Hokies lost because of those stupid orange uniforms. Period.
If you don't agree, have no fear. I can take questions and handle debate on this all week if you wish.
I don't know if you've noticed, but Logan Thomas gives us the best chance to win every game from the offense. He's not a quarterback. We all know that. But he is the undisputed leader of this team and he has all of the respect of the players around him. He had a bad game and we lost. That means that NOBODY ELSE on offense could step up and compensate for LT3. If he's not on the field we don't even have a chance. He needs to play well for us to win, but he needs to be on the field.
It's not ideal to have our whole offense rely on Thomas, but he's all that we have right now. The recruiting has been pretty bad on the offensive side of the ball for the last several years and we're starting to really feel the effects of that. We'll get a chance to see the QB of the Future next year. I suspect Andrew Ford has a good chance to take the starting role. He is Loeffler's first real QB recruit and he will be the best option moving forward. What's more important than the QB of the future, though, is having actual O-Linemen instead of a bunch of converted TEs
^I would rather see Miami get pasted by FSU than the Hokies. That said, you guarantee me atleast a close loss to FSU (based on excellent defense and an okay offensive production), and blocking Miami from winning the "Tech" division yet again, I'll keep the loss to Duke.
Give him the Corey Moore death stare and he would be a freak to the nth degree. Every QB would have the middle name of "pee pants," if they didn't already...
Specific heat can be expressed in Joules or calories (careful, nutritional "Calorie" is actually 1 kcal in thermodynamics!), it just depends on the units of the constant you use in the calculation. I'm in kcal world now based on the software I'm using for my research, but I stick with SI units as much as I can ;)
/geek out
I think our defense may have had more to do with it.
I think one of the things that can't be taught, that Logan doesn't have, is the ability to anticipate the open receiver. The difference between a good QB and a great QB is that the great QB can look at the defense as the play begins and know the receive will be open in a couple steps and anticipate that throw.
There were numerous times during the game (and in previous games) where there was a wide open receiver that looked not open in the first second after the snap. Of course, he also went back to his old trick of completely over throwing wide open receivers just standing there waiting for the ball, delivering the ball instead to the safety behind the receiver.
I feel like we just went straight into JMU way too quickly. I know it's been said before, but I really think it's true. I've come to stop being embarrassed by that loss. That loss didn't define our season. It also doesn't impact this year's season.
I too watched the game with a girl who cost us the game.

Plus one for "prisoner of the Moment"...
