I agree i don't think he's explosive enough or has that Eddie Royal speed for punt returns and i understand that they're two different players who plays two different positions. But its just my opinion so take it with a grain of

I think I needed this... Seeing that not only did the Hokies lose, but the redskins, capitals, and uah chargers (my graduate schools hockey team) all lost this weekend as well. Terrible weekend for sports, but here's hoping for a comeback.

Baylor should have more credibility than us; they're good.
I assume this credibility you mention comes from the football polls. It should, as it's a measure of how good you are this year. If you want to measure over a longer span, I've seen a few analysis that puts VT between #10-#15 over a 5 year span as a program. Not bad, and maybe a little ahead of where I would rank us.
Now the polls aren't perfect, and there are teams that will benefit from them by about 10-15 spots, usually based on conference bias. Miami anyone?
But don't put down Baylor; they're a good team with good recruits and a good system, and probably the best in Texas.
I'm not trying to be mean and please don't take this the wrong way. Its not meant towards anyone in a disrespectful way what so ever, but we should stop looking into the BCS all together and take each game week by week. Its not even promised we get to the ACC championship. So in my opinion the BCS means nothing to me I just hope the team gets back on track and ready for BC a win this week would make me feel better after this loss to duke.

I also think it's really wrong to say "we don't have talent." That's ridiculous. We have plenty of talent, but I don't think the players that we have were recruited with any coherent plan as to how to integrate them and build a system. That's what is encouraging me so much about the recent recruiting, especially by Loeffler and Grimes, to go out and get "their guys" - players that have skill sets they want for the schemes they want to develop.
Well...it's actually a game that's played on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Also Monday's during Labor Day weekend, but I get your point! ;-)
Agree.... I'm not fully buying the we have no talent excuse. I guarantee that Troy, Ball State, Duke, etc... Would have gladly traded recruiting classes with VT the past 4 years....
I noticed the lame attendance at the UM game too. I've seen them play twice and other than Duke Johnson (who's a beast) they're not impressive and definitely not top 10. I think we can hang w/ them.
Everybody recognizes Foster for being one of the best in the business, if not THE best. His defenses put in the work and gets the results year after year.
I think the offensive ineptness of the last 10 years just highlights what a great job he does.
I would just love it if we managed to get positive punt and kick returns.
Knowles scares me for a speedster he is the slowest person on a return I have ever seen. Anymore if he catches it in the end zone, I just want to see him take a knee.
I loved see Jarrett catch the punts last year because he was fearless, but now I want to see him fair catch. It is incredibly frustrating to see him catch it and then go side to side and backwards!
Trey played LB in high school, as well as RB. Wouldn't be a huge leap to have him play there again. He was the #40 OLB in the country and #11 in VA, per 247sports.
I kind of think of Miami as the other wvu. Beating them brings a special kind of joy to my Hokie Spirit.
Great. Another Logan situation where we move them from their best position to fill a need. I get " for the good of the team," but we're talking about these kids' futures.

Most folks figured that the Hokies would come in between 23 - 25 on the strength of their computer numbers but that wasn't the case. FSU dropped one based on the strength of Oregon's win over UCLA but FSU might move back up to the 2 spot after destroying Miami.
Yeah, can't have 4 INT's either. Scott better figure out how to move the ball if teams are going to take away the underneath routes.
Not unexpected. We can't keep finishing drives without touchdowns, or even field goals.
That's the offensive deception they run this year. It only LOOKS like they're trying to eat the clock; they are actually trying to gain yardage.

People need to chill out. First off, it's ONE GAME. Even the best of teams come out flat and get upset one week. Secondly, quit calling for Leal - it's not going to happen, so there's no point in arguing about it. You can be mad all you want, but accept the fact that Leal isn't going to start. Thirdly, it's BC week - time to quit whining and support this team.
If you still feel bad, just think how much better we're off this year than last.
