Maybe a little high, but they're undefeated with strong wins against UGA and Florida...one of the less egregious things about this poll, imo.

I don't see how London survives this season

Money.

The UVA administration would have to spend a certain amount of money to fire London. If they don't think a new coach is likely to bring in enough money to off set that cost, what's the benefit of bringing in a new coach?

They can wait and fire him when the risk-reward ratio is more favorable.

Okay but look at the other side of the coin. Our offense has played the #5, #10, #13, #20, #44, and #107 defenses for an average rank of 33.

Texas A&M's defense has played the #19, #35, #43, #46,#75, and #98 ranked offense for an average of 52.6.

Based on those rankings, our offense has performed better against higher level competition than their defense has against worse competition.

On top of that, A&M's offense has played the #67, #5, #87, #56, #64, and #90 ranked defenses for an average of 61.5.

Our Defense has played the #35, #41, #45, #55, #70, and #93 ranked offenses for an average rank of 56.5

Based on those averages, our defense has played higher level competition than their offense, and has better results. Our weakest unit, offense, has also played significantly better defenses and ranks higher than their their defense.

A&M is overhyped based solely on three players. Joeckel, Evans, and Manziel. Those three are all extremely good players and would likely give us problems, but as a whole the body of work for Texas A&M does not support the constant bias of putting them ahead of us, even with two losses.

Stats from cfbstats.com

I totally read this post twice and "Guys! Guys!" came out in the voices of Bender and Cartman.

It really rustles my jimmies that mizzou is 5th.

I personally don't care if we win the rest of our games by 1 point each, if we're fortunate, including the ACCCG (if we end up winning out). We'll still end up in a big bowl game.

Surely this could be a clock of some sort that you could refer to. Like "Well, looks here like it's tuesday, therefor, we suck. Thankfully, we don't play on tuesday, and are on track to be awesome for the night game in Lane this Thursday."

"We don't play in Lane Thursday night anymore"

"Well then we are on track to be awesome on defense, but fair to middling on offense all of Saturday."

Considering where we started, I'll take the #16 ranking, but do I have some additional comments -

* After trashing #3 Clemson, FSU should undoubtedly be ranked ahead of Oregon.
* Not at all sure about Miami at #7 after they escaped UNC.
* What the Holy Hell is Clemson still doing in the Top 10??? They got TOTALLY trashed last night!
* Why is LSU still ranked above us with 2 losses?? One of those losses to an unranked team!
* Same question for Texas A&M - why are they ranked above us with 2 losses? SEC bias at work.

Go Hokies!! Beat Duke!

Agreed, it's easier to get ranked high if you put up half a hundred and win by a touchdown than it is to hold your opponent to 16 and win by a field goal.

I thought the Hat should have timed out with, what was it, 26 seconds left? Give yourself time for a kick return and a few offensive plays. But instead he gambled on the laterals on the kick return. Riverboat gamblers eventually get taken by the current.

Or maybe like this: "If Florida State beats Clemson, and Clemson beat Georgia, the SEC is the best conference in the country" ~ ESPN

Agreed, this isn't Clemsoning. Clemsoning is falling apart from the inside and getting beat by inferior competition. Or getting absolutely pummeled by equals. FSU is head and shoulders above Clemson.

Agreed; FSU has a good balance and is full of talent in all positions. The 'neers were all offense. Plus, they were fricken ACC Champs in an FBS Bowl!

Sorry, but I've got to say this: That was a really terrible way to write out the transitive property. Better option would be "If A beats B and B beats C, then A is better than C"

You guys almost sound like you're complaining about LSU losing to unranked Ole Miss.
