And to make things seem even crazier, Washington State's QB threw 89 passes last night. 89!

Bill Murray can say or do anything he wants and there isn't a problem. Hell, he was hitting golf balls at a crowd of Clemson fans an no one was screaming about how utterly dangerous that is. I was disappointed Corso ran out of movies to reference while telling him not-so-fast-Caddyshack.

I don't know if Murray got anything right. All I remember is he picked Florida and Clemson.

DEFENSE DEFENSE D
RUN GAME RUN GAME RUN GAME RUN
COOKIES ARE GOOD TOO

In case it wasn't clear, I'm voting D

If it actually plays out that FSU is #2, even given the impressive win, I can already hear the "east coast bias" remarks.

That late hit on the QB that got the UGA player ejected was some of the trashiest calling I've seen. Some of these ejections are legit, but some are really overblown.

Nope, must have missed that one. I was flipping between three games at that point.

" Every year, South Carolina find a game they have no business losing, and lose. Every. Single. Year."

They are learning that art from Clemson down the street.

Did you see the subsequent trick play where Vandy tried to line up a bunch of lineman out wide, tried to throw a screen, and the freshman CB just picked it off and went the other way? Worst trick play of all time. And utterly hilarious.

Alabama is starting to look better each week...
Next week should be a real gauge as to how good they really are though.

They SHOULD wipe the floor with Tenn...just like Oregon did.

But we'll see

Yesterday was a glorious day of football. Butch Jones is looking like a solid hire, and Tennessee is looking like they're not going to be a doormat anymore. Ole Miss beating LSU was awesome, Mettenberger really Clemson'ed in up there with his picks in the end zone, and Missouri is continuing to roll with a backup QB. SEC is upside down this year, so FSU and Clemson better win their rivalries in November. I have less hope for GT, but it is still possible.

1) Alabama, until proven otherwise. Rolling Arkansas like they did was impressive, even though Arkansas is a dumpster fire at the moment. Bielema's face on the sideline was, "Oh hell what I have gotten myself into". Alex Collins's mom is thinking, "Alex, I told you go to to Miami!"

2) FSU. Rolled over a previously highly-touted Clemson. Clemsoning only happens against bad teams or after a fast downward spiral. This may be starting now. They've looked impressive every week, and they're balanced, too, with a really good defense.

3) Oregon. I hate to put them here. They have only beaten Washington, who got pummeled by AZState yesterday. They have an impressive offense, but haven't beaten anyone of note yet. Tennessee is their best win so far.

4) Missouri. Don't look now, but they've beaten UGA and Florida, two teams with way more talent (but also with injuries), but also Vandy, who also beat UGA. Jarius Jamar Javarious Lamar! And their backup QB is pretty good. They don't play Alabama, LSU, or Ole Miss this year.

5) Miami. The U can put up points in bunches, and has maybe the best RB tandem in the county in Duke Johnson and Dallas Crawford. Their defense isn't dominant, but does just enough, with a little swagger. If Stephen Morris can remember which color jersey his team wears, their offense will put up points like...

6) Baylor! This team is Oregon-esqe. No one knows how they'll respond to a team with a defense. They play Kansas next week so their season doesn't start until Thursday, Nov 7 against Oklahoma.

7) Ohio State. They should probably be 6, because Baylor hasn't played anyone, either, but their brand is keeping them ranked higher than everyone. I don't think we'll ever know how good these guys are until they play, undefeated, in the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin, Penn State, and Michigan aren't good, and that's the meat of their schedule this year.

8) Stanford. Best 1-loss team in the country. How they lost to Utah, I'll never know, because it was on the PAC12 network. But I feel like the wheels are coming off a little for this program. The team is fine, but over the next season or two they'll come back down to just-above-mediocrity.

9-? ) #all-the-one-loss-teams-plus-Texas-Tech-and-a-few-two-loss-teams. Auburn. UCLA. Clemson. Fresno. NIU. OK. TT. VT. OKSt. Louisville. LSU. ATM. Others...

Everyone I actually gave a place to was a team I've seen, except Baylor. I haven't seen them play, but their scorelines are real impressive.

Thanks for the link, I hadn't read that. I'm impressed, keep up the good work. Reminds me a little of single-A Strasburg back in the '90s, where we "introduced" passing and kicking my senior year. Why weren't we going for 2??? Our offense, which got us to state final in '95, was pretty much "hand off to Frankie (Shoemaker)!" for 4 years. He got drafted as a baseball player for the Royals organization out of high school.

I made a bet with my brother that UMD wouldn't score 24 points on us a couple weeks ago. Winner gets a Rail from the other one. He took the bet, I think I'm gonna win.

I'm not good at those kinds of predictions because I hate some schools too much. But we're gonna be anywhere from 11 to 13 I think. Could be an interesting few weeks if the top 10 keeps getting shaken up.

I blame your wife too.

My 20 BEST teams at this point of the season based on wins & my takeaways from watching games:

1. Alabama
2. FSU
3. Oregon
----this is where I believe there is a drop-off---
4. Missouri (tough to gauge because the two great wins came over injury riddled Florida & Georgia)
5. Ohio St
6. Stanford
7. Auburn
8. UCLA
9. Wisonsin
10. Miami
11. Baylor
12. VT
13. Clemson
14. LSU
15. Oklahoma
16. aTm
17. USC
18. Louisville
19. Texas Tech
20. Nebraska

*I don't believe for a second that this week's polls will reflect this

What is great about the college football season is that every one of these teams will get their shot to impress and either move up/down at some point over the remainder of the year. Should be fun to watch.

Who would of thought at the the beginning of the season at this point LSU, South Carolina, Florida, A&M, and Georgia would all be out of the National Title discussion and the SEC's only hopes would be Auburn, Missouri and Alabama? Other than the obvious last team the first 2 were only expected to win around 3-5 games. This is why preseason polls are POINTLESS.
