This is the most likely scenario. However, I think the loser of the Clemson/FSU game would have to beat their in-state SEC rival. If Clemson or FSU have 2 losses at the end of the year, they'll be a bubble at-large selection.
We could also end up in a similar situation to 2007, where LSU leap-frogged us from 4 to 2 for the national title because they beat us so handily early in the year. If Bama remains in the top 3, that is our glass ceiling.

The why not: Because only Hokies want to see a VT-Bama rematch. Nobody else does. The pollsters would do their best to ensure anybody else (especially a 1-loss PAC-12 team) makes it over a 1-loss VT team.

That's pretty similar to the situation in 2009, w here we went to Atlanta for Alabama (L), GT (L), and Tennessee (W.) CFA really is a decent bowl to go to outside of the BCS.

I still wear the hoodie and gym shorts I got in 2007-08 season. That year it was 50 degrees all week in Miami, and we we had all packed shorts/t-shirts. The per diem was pretty good, too.
You do see wine and cheese. And I have heard of people putting cheese on apple pie. Therefore... via transitivity... it could happen.
