When I first digested the notion of him at whip, I thought the same thing, that Bud gave him 0 pass responsibility. However, after rewatching the game he dropped into coverage 3 times.

I was referring to Oregon. They still have to play UCLA and Stanford, who are still top-15 teams at the moment. Thus far, Oregon really hasn't played anyone except Washington, who has lost a couple in a row now. FSU and Clemson have tough schedules with a couple ranked teams (including each other), but it will be interesting to see if Oregon can really continue the tear they're on against better competition.

Is Oregon's competition going to get better? Or are you referring to FSU & Clemson?

I understand his responsibility at Whip against Pitt was to sack the QB or tackle the RB, and very little if any pass-coverage. If he could be taught good pass-cover skills, he'd be a real monster at the position!

But, hey, I love watching the guy play no matter where he lines up!

I'm not sure BillDozer has had a chance to split up the film yet

And yes, I do want to see Dadi catch a Hail Mary bomb from Logan before this season ends!

My daughters loved that. 4 and 8 years old. They loved Jake and Elwood.
They love the spectacle that is college football.
The companies marching around during the tailgates, the bands and cheerleaders and the tuba players goofing off in their snakey parade before the games, the Hokie Bird, The cannon, jumping during Enter Sandman.
Thanks for the good time.

Not even. Pretty much everything on CBS' Harris site is totally screwed.

With all due respect, Joe. I like how Mason and French post the YouTube links that I can pause and try and dissect. The .gif are great for looping, but it's hard to key on the player you're focusing on.

When RVD was hurt, some of us even wondered what it would look like if he played Whip. He's a monster

I'm hoping for a gradual transition this year to a starting job not only for Gibson, but also for Smith, Conte, and Arkema. I've seen postings indicating that Gibson doesn't practice very hard and has been kicked into Grimes' doghouse.

The question at this point in time for everyone but Gibson is, are they ready, and if not, when? When will they know enough to be able to detect pass and run blitzes? We need fresh legs on the offensive line this year, and we need them as quick as possible.

I still laugh about how the announcer blew off that hit as "getting under his pads" and "that's his job"

That dude got fuckin' rocked at a time where we had, yet again, the best db corps in the nation.

Mizzou was #25 even though they haven't really played anyone until UGA and its SEC beating SEC so they will get the benefit of the doubt all year long. If UGA loses another game I could see them sitting on the edge of polls, but I wouldn't be surprised if they stayed in the low 20s somehow. Also, non AQ schools will always sit lower than 16 until the end of the season, just to see if they can make it. Then they can squeeze in and create the BCS chaos we all know and love.

As the season goes on, the rankings tend to fix themselves, but crazy weekends like this will happen and then pollsters are just left throwing darts on the board to see where people fall past the top ten.

It was awesome! I freaked when I saw the Blues Brothers on the sideline while the Pitt band was still on the field. You should have given us more warning so we could practice our dance moves.

I agree with our ranking at 19. I don't like the ranking system and I definitely think most of the SEC teams are inflated. Someone else mentioned this in another topic but LSU is 6 and USCe is 11 whose losses come to Georiga. Mizzou jumped Georgia, which I think is OK.

My biggest complaint with the polls are when two teams closely ranked play and the team that loses gets bounced. Remeber #2 alabama vs. #1 LSU? LSU won 9-6. For the top two teams in the nation, with the number 1 school winning in overtime, I would say the polls got it right. But of course Alabama drops in the rankings and has to earn there way back. I think the polls (other than BCS maybe) do a bad job of accounting for how the teams won or lost.

2007 was my senior year and one of my favorite teams. this years d reminds me of that teams d. plus the all maroon uniforms and all white uniforms were the best

On the Harris poll, our win/loss info is wrong. Swapped with OSU?
