For those interested, the current projected BCS has us at #18. Apparently several of the computers are giving us some love:

Interesting that the Colley Matrix has FSU and Clemson at #1 and #2. Most of the computers have Oregon relatively low, but I imagine that will change as the season progresses and competition gets better.
Truthfully, I want to see VT dominate UVA (and ODU in the future) just like LSU dominates all the other programs in LA, and like Tennessee used to dominate Vandy and Memphis, and like tOSU has dominated the programs in Ohio, cuz that is how you win the recruiting war each year. I want VT to be the only team in VA that the top 20 VA recruits would even consider playing for, and then they skip automatically to OOS teams. VT could be a perennial top 15 team if we could recruit in the top 15 by always winning the lion's share of top VA recruits. I always hate seeing VA athletes on the national stage with OOS programs. Not having UVA to win top 20 recruits and then waste their talent would only make those athletes more likely to succeed at Tech. I want UVA to be as IRRELEVANT in recruiting as they are on gameday.
Some papers/sites have comics and classifieds...similar idea.
I both agree and disagree with you...
AGREE:
The polls are BS. I've argued this before that most of the voters don't watch most of the games. You win, you go up. You lose, you go down. No matter how the game was played, conditions, injuries, score line, stats... None of it matters. I thing UGa should have dropped move from their W over UT than their L to MizzU.
DISAGREE:
You conclude that we should be ranked above Stanford, UGA, and Oklahoma. The ranking, for all their fallacies, do an ok job (not preseason) of predicting the assumed results of matchup. Yeah there will be upsets, but if we where to play any of those 3 teams next week would we be the underdog? Probably.
Sadly, I watched the slow decline of "Stick It In." It wasn't banned until I was done with undergrad, so I had four glorious years of it, and then watched during grad school as it slowly became unknown. For two years or so, isolated pockets of students would still do it, but from about 2010 on, it was more sad than anything else. People actually gave us strange looks when we would do it.
In Loving Memory of "Stick It In," I give you:
Embedding disabled on this one, but it's also pretty good:
amazing, i love the heart this team has. plus it looks like theyre actually having fun which didnt happen at all last year. this just got me so pumped for the rest of the season
The only thing is, the majority of the students don't know it/weren't around when we had it. I myself was blessed with 2 years of "stick it in" before it was banned, but if it can't be done right, it shouldn't be done at all. It just makes it a disgrace.
Billdozer your Hokie videos never cease to give me goosebumps. I always watch them with headphones and the volume jacked up.
Our SoS would have been better if ECU hadn't just lost to Tulane.
THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER!! What I would've given to be in a show like that with the MV's...
Hey, we made a flux capacitor once
1.21 JIGGAWATTS!

Looking at the ACC Facebook page, it's nice to see all the Noles, Canes, and Tigers patting themselves and each other on the back for being in the Top-10. In a few weeks, we'll shake things up on our mission to reclaim the ACC.
I don't do this, but would like to actually...are there any delay issues over FM or AM?
Thanks, I missed that somehow. I'll be using that for the future.
The MVs aren't really a precision formation marching band... But they're spirited.
That may have been my favorite game I got a chance to see in person. They even had ACC championship banners hanging in the stadium that fans brought in. Demolishing them 38-0 was made even sweeter.
Candy Playoffs:
1. Orange Slices
2. Peach Rings
3. Mint Leaves
4. Reese's
I think UVA will always pull some recruits away, no matter what. If our decade of dominance truly had any impact in some of these kids decisions, then it would be a no brainer for them to just be a Hokie, however it has not. I know that many would say that London has a sales pitch, but so did Al Groh.
In addition, if they pull in talented recruits and end up being a good team by the time we play them and we win, we look all the better to those other recruits out there. In my mind, if I saw a top team get dominated by another team, it would sway me to that other team. Bama beats top teams, that's why kids go there.
One last note, if UVA is on the bottom, and they do by some miracle beat us, that's going to be horrible.
This is awesome. I really wish I didn't go out for refreshments during half time.
6) MOAR Sheriff KJ not just bringin' a lunch pail, but bringin' one full of heavy rocks.
KJ at pre-game introductions:
It's really hard to schedule OOC games in the middle of the season. Most of the big conferences just don't do that.
Hate OSU football.
But that video game themed halftime show is pretty fantastic.

Stupid question: Where did the Time Cop thing come from? Is it from his inept use of time outs? I personally prefer Rent-a-Cop
