thanks everyone! special shoutout to my sponsors, Avion tequila. They helped me every step of the way. All I had to do was some minor editing this morning when I sobered up.

Definitely a bigger jump than what I was expecting. Now it's time to take the week off and get healed up and watch teams in front of us lose some more.

This is why I think a lot of people, myself included, think that Gibson should be starting at tackle ahead of Benedict. Benedict is large, powerful and mean, but he just isn't quick enough. I'm sure French and gang will do their reviews and such, but from my vantage point Saturday, it seemed we moved the ball the most when Gibson was in. Kind of reminds me of a couple years ago when we had Lanier and Becton rotating every series or two.

He peeled off and ran with the TE on a couple plays. But considering he has been a DE the entire time he has been in Blacksburg, I'd say it would take a little bit of time to learn coverage techniques.

Well yeah, their paper airplanes stay aloft a looong time.

Oh my goodness. That brings back great memories. Drank shine before that game to keep warm!

Thoughts: Brandon was a HITTER! It was also a fumble...they totally glazed over that in the broadcast.
Miss those unis. Especially #allmarooneverything.
Our special teams were much better. Especially coverage teams. They seemed to just play faster.
Can't believe we only had Tyrod for 4 years.
Imagine that offensive talent with our new coaches?!

Sorry, but I came all the way from Chicago so my 9 year old daughter could attend her first Tech game. She wants to be a Hokie and I am going to encourage it, including doing the wave! By the way, between that and Enter Sandman I believe my work is done.....

Same here. And then after the game my hatred for LOLUVA was renewed when on the way out of the stadium some douchnozzle wearing a bow tie called my girlfriend's aunt old to her face

But then you miss out hearing those rediculous stats like "He's the nations leader in yards after a catch, with one hand, on wet grass, after missing Tuesday's practice, and never having the chicken pox."

PSA: This thread isn't meant to be a place to rant and steam. For those of you new to the site, there have been plenty of threads talking about empty seats, people leaving early, and just lack of being good fans.

I'm not trying to be a prick, but the people you are complaining to do not read this site so you're basically preaching to the choir and bringing negativity to a place where we should be celebrating, what so far has been, a great season for our football team.

I appreciate all the positive responses and interest for this post and I look forward to writing more in the future.

I agree Nerf that Beamer and Co. do a better job of evaluating and then developing the VA athletes than UVA has done historically. I am not saying that we frequently "lose" to UVA in recruiting, just that we do not dominate them and it is a back and forth tussle. Historically, VT has recruited VA better than UVA, especially during the Al Groh years. Time Cop has scored a few big, Top-10 VA recruits each year, but his player development has been sorely lacking, IMO. I would just like to see the downward UVA trend continue until VT is the nearly unanimous choice of the top VA athletes who stay in-state. #LOLuvaIrrelevance

The Hokies' Fans formula for success this season is simple:

1) Just keep the intensity cheering against the next opponent/game like it's the most important on our schedule.
2) Accept our offense - this year - for what it is and pray for mistake-free football and for them to finish drives with points if at all possible.
3) Hope that w can keep winning the field position battle and keep your fingers crossed that Knowles and/or Jarrett are due for a seriously ling return on special team.
4) Keep the faith knowing that we will play lights-out defense - even more so when Exum returns - and thank God for Bud Foster and his staff every night!
5) Send the cavs running home to mommy, and then pile on during the weekly LOLUVa segment on TKP!

Pitt got neutered today.

UVa might have given Tom Savage a mild concussion, but we took his spirit.

I liked the sustained drives but wanted them to finish better. Bud Foster and wrinkle in the same sentence equals sleepless nights for opposing OC's. First Kyle Fuller vs. GT, now Dadi vs. Pitt.

I loved seeing Journell drop in that long field goal but hated seeing him miss the shorter one.

Kendall Fuller might not have gotten a lot of mention up to this point, but he has been so darn good. Pitt has good receivers that could not get going and it was not just the pass rush that was standing between Savage and a reception.

Three straight games against teams that some folks thought we would not beat? Check-check-check.

If you aren't enjoying watching the BALLZY-NESS that we have been seeing out of this team, then VT football is not your thing. These guys get up for every week, punch the clock and put in work until 0:00. IF 2012 is what VT football is not, then 2013 is what VT football IS.

I'll take the UVA coaching job. Its more money than I get now and far less pressure to do my job right.

I love the Colley Matrix, it's just based off of if you win and there's no preseason bias. If you play 3 shitty teams that win 2 games and you win out it really hurts you unless you beat a bunch of teams that beat a lot of teams.

And so help the receiver if he doesn't get past Jarrett before the ball gets there.

Live. I think most of us there and on tv thought it would be illegal. The replay on Hokie Vision, it was pretty obvious it was legal and with the shoulder. Still a rough hit, and glad the kid is ok. There was a nice round of applause around Lane when he got up.

UVA had never heard that song. So when they fell, they fell hard

NEVER-EVER-NEVVVVERRRRRRR........................

As soon as I heard congemi say it was going to be reviewed because it was a crown hit, I cringed.

Announcers are now made to act like watchdogs on those things and get giddy when they see one.

The times, they are a changin'.

Maybe, but a 6-4 grinder in which UF will be using their 3rd/4th string QB by the end.

While I cannot deny that LOLUVa gets the highly coveted recruits, the 4 and 5 star players ON PAPER, one of two things is occurring as these kids go through their four years.
A) they are not properly coached/motivated meaning potential is lost
B) they are way overrated at 17-18 years old and our coaches see through that, having a plan and not just filling star spots to look good on paper.

"Losing" the recruiting battle to them year after year does not phase me because come late November our number is greater than theirs on the scoreboard!

I'm not sure who started it or when, but I started using it a few months ago, and it is based on his poor time management skills. It was also the title of a Van Damme movie in the early '90s where law enforcement could travel through time. Seemed appropriate.
