Have to agree. Seems that every time we start thinking we are going to win something comes and bites us in the butt. This team has to stay hungry and play with a chip on their shoulders. I kind of believe that this game will set the tone for the rest of the season; are we going to start playing like we did last year and expect to win just because we showed up, or play with the attitude of 'I don't care who you are or what you expect, but I'm ramming this game down your throat for however long it takes!'. I hope the latter.

But, we did use LT once to catch a TD pass from Taylor in 2010 against WF. "Cheesedick" may have cause for doing some extra prep.
You should hate the Tar Heels. They wear the same smugness that the Hoos do.

I seem to remember wanting to slap one of our players in the NFL. I can't remember who it was, but it was a couple of years ago when they announced the starting lineup of whatever team it was. Due to more than a few starters on the team being from Ohio State, it's like they had a running gag where everyone said "The University of (Insert College Here)". It came to our guy, I wish I could remember better, but he said "THE University of Virginia...Tech". I so wanted to reach into the TV and slap him hard. Just like every time I hear our announcer at the game say it.
Truth be told, I'm getting a little riled just thinking about people saying it...so I will go now.
Either way, it's a great day for the sport that we love, being able to pull together for the kids to be able to play this game!!!! A small victory for college football.

I'm in Central Michigan also and I never have a problem with the U of M fans and I wear Virginia Tech stuff all the time. The U of M and MSU thing around my area gets kind of ugly though..
Everything I'm seeing indicates outside money or use of money generated completely by the games themselves, not appropriated funds from Congress. Yahoo and ESPN are basically saying the same thing, and CBS is basically just quoting ESPN.
Hell who needs TV? We have plenty of drama in some of the topics too!

That depression - ecstasy - depression pattern occurs far too often at Virginia Tech sporting events. It's going to cause a heart attack one day.
Last I read said that SecDef stated that the games would be played, leading me to believe that they pulled some money internally, not externally. Could be wrong though.
Oh, and Lantern is WAY overrated.
