Well, before the season starts, the AD, network and interested parties get together and write a contract.

If the contract sucks the AD has absolutely no ssay in game times, it is 100% dictated by the network and Ticket sales may suffer.

A properly written contract would allow the AD some negotiating power to ensure his decade long record of sellout seats would continue.

A poorly written contract would not allow the AD any control over game times, especially in years where marquee games are lacking.

Thus, the AD is still responsible for game times.

Especially ESPN3 type games.

Just wait for next year. For all we know they'll make a 10:00 AM slot and stick us in it for 3 of our home games. Our home schedule gets worse every single year...just you wait.

I don't believe there are any negotiations to be had about game times. It is the card you are dealt and that's it. If you have inside knowledge of how game time scheduling works with the networks, please share it with the rest of us. I'm only stating my understanding of how it works.

Then they have not negotiated well enough and therefore still responsible for awful game times.

Caleb definitely has the size to be a good blocker, just of matter of technique and experience I suspect. I think that you are right in that with a solid year of reps in spring and summer camps with Shane coaching him, Caleb could be every bit the blocker that Edmunds is now. Hope so, at least.

Unfortunately, I don't see an NFL future for him at DT because he's undersized but boy does he make plays. I think he has the mental capability and the strength to play on Sundays, but let's see what NFL GMs think.

EDIT: #MANBEARPIG

I'm glad you said Tony the Tiger because that was my exact thought when I saw it on the screen. These were fairly comical and I can't really believe I watched either of them.

If Kelly was in favor of starting Foles why didn't/doesn't he? That doesn't make sense. I have never heard him (Kelly) say that MV7 didn't earn the starting job.

I enjoy making fun of HD. I never mean to offend anyone. I can sympathize with your point of view and I respect you for standing up for what you perceive to be right.

As for the Turkey Legs, they remind me of "Whose Line is it Anyway" where everything is made up and the points don't matter. I don't think there is any reason to downvote anything you have said. This board is meant for expressing your opinion and as far as I can tell nothing you've said is offensive.

That being said, I don't agree ENTIRELY with you, but because you were downvoted for no reason I'll go ahead and give you a few legs.

I apologize if you were offended by my act of poking fun at HD. I don't mean for it to be mean spirited. I hope you enjoy most of your time spent on TKP...I know I do.

Cheers and Go Hokies!

I still blame Weaver because he has to agree to the game time

I have to believe that isn't true. Weaver can't say no to the game time that's given to him by the network. I think they are contractually obligated. Even if he could reject the time, I would imagine that it would result in the league (and in turn the University) forfeiting that would have been generated from televising the game.

#MANBEARPIG deserves the ultimate in Hokie respect. It makes me giddy to think that there is yet another #MANBEARPIG in HS right now. Join the family Jump!
