Tis true.
Hi all! I thought it was about time for me to sign up and start spreading my wonderful analysis through the intertubes.
One Major Drawback - the lots on football gameday are ABC regulated for the legal consumption of alcohol, that is not the case for basketball games. While I would love to see this happen, the "gustapo-esque" police force in Bburg/Montgomery County would have a field day throwing people in the clink for this.
Jesse Palmer is on the ESPN bus from Atlanta right now on College Football Daily. He is liking our helmets but thinks "Georgia Tech is for real"...
-shakes head-
They all look the same...
That's the joke
Everyone please welcome our official TKP geologist, Cambro22!
Giraffes don't have hooves. They're related to camels...
It was a similar uppercut that lost Woody Hayes his job @tOSU in the Gator Bowl....strangely enough, he landed it on a Clemson player.
Terrell Edmunds had something like 29 carries for something like 359 yards and 5 long TD runs this past weekend. Those are approximate numbers but very impressive. He is 1 hell of an athlete and he is also a year younger than everyone else like Trey was. WOW..
Other than the Nebraska game my favorite games at Lane have all been Miami- 03, 09, and 11. While '11 had those loud moments and was just a great game, 03 and 09 were great for the consistent wall of sound as we just demolished two overhyped Miami teams.
Fun fact about our earthquake game: the VT geophysics seismograph is located just off the huckleberry trail behind the south rec fields. Roughly 3,265.11 feet from midfield of Lane Stadium.
In contrast LSU's seismograph in their geoscience complex is located roughly 1,518 feet from midfield of Tiger Stadium.
So while it happened at LSU first, their seismograph is much closer to their stadium and is therefore much more sensitive to changes in rock vibration. Additionally at the time (1988) Tiger Stadium held 80,140 spectators. 13,907 more than Lane Stadium holds. In my geologic opinion, Tech's earthquake in the 2011 Miami game is just as, if not more impressive than LSU's famous game.
(note i did not take into account the bedrock density, or ideal harmonic resonance needed to produce a vibration that would be readable on a seismograph in either location. just keep in mind that there are other factors that need to align to produce a reading.)
I think this is just a message board that got a bit out of control. All the sane GT fans jumped ship for The Hive I belive. That board is much more reasonable to look at. I wouldn't worry about anything posted on there or even give it attention. They're all idiots and if they think they're serious then I may even call them insane.
TKP rules! agreed!
Not allowed. I'm pretty sure by NCAA policy that if you have an athletic scholarship at all and play football, your scholarship counts against the 85 for the football team and not your other sports. And the same is true for the basketball team if you play other non-football sports. That way, you can't load up on extra football stars by forcing them on "lesser" sports.
... but let's not open that can o' worms yet again.
No giraffes, only turkeys.
You know it. If I'm not the the smartest guy in the room, I can just clear the room. Not a bad skillset to have at times.
Did you see the one punch in the Clemson/NC State game? Hard to keep your argument legit with that kind of uppercut first swing. That said, I am tired of the sissifying stuff that keeps plaguing football and I don't think enough is left to the ref's discretion so that a punch like Gator's is a penalty and the Clemson punch leads to a multigame mandatory suspension (Clemson only suspended him for one game).

I would kill to know exactly what the NC State cornerback said to get that reaction though.
It's a bowl with high walls in an tight area with over 80,000 people. They've been doing pretty well in their conference, just had Russell Wilson and Montee Ball light up the offense the past couple of years, and have a pretty good fan base. I'd say it gets pretty loud.
Speaking of loud...Seattle's fans are loud.
I mean her initials are AA. How could she be any fun to drink with?
Turkey leg for signing up, but...vtpoop? With Skipper as the avatar? Explosive...
I agree with you on the Pylon helmet being my favorite of that group.
This definitely makes me miss Seth just for his antics and some of the stories I hear all the time. The one about Davila getting into it with Seth is always a favorite. Although I'm sure you could just replace this with JJ's face considering he was making about the same gestures last year. No more coat tossing though since that is a technical I believe.
No, that's legit man. How else do you think he beat out Gibson to play tackle?
I do agree, you learn quite a bit from the bios on Hokie Sports, even if it wasn't the stuff you were originally going there to find.

I really like how you used "roughly" and then gave a very exact measurement.
But thanks! Now I have some new ammo to throw out at my LSU coworkers when they bring their stupid earthquake up.
