Everyone is so eager to point to finger at the problem these days. It bugs me more than anything in sports. This team is 3-1! Someone said it earlier, but they fired, hired and taught a new offense to the team in about a 4 week period. Going from Steinspring's caveman offense to Loeffler's is a huge adjustment, yet somehow, that inept offense scored points against every team we have played and we are 3-1. This team has fight that many previous teams have lacked, with the lack of talent as well. We can sit here and speculate about ever which thing, but I have come to realize that there are so many things that we have no idea about. It certainly isn't wrong to speculate but have we seriously gotten to the point where we should contemplate Beamer's retirement after we start the season 3-1 and the only struggle we have is offensively, which comes after Beamer cleaned house in the offensive department (aka that was expected)? C'mon Man!

12:30 on the ACC network? We couldn't even pull ESPNU for this matchup? #goacc I guess.

Well no.
I assume you're reffering to some die-hard Hokies on an HGTV show that had dogs with awesome Hokie football names?! Cool, I didn't know.

It was cool, Beamer wanted them to overturn it so Sam Rogers was satisfied. Honestly though, for a walk-on freshman FB, that was a damn fine catch. Looks like playing with the JUGS has worked well for him...

My only complaint was calling a QB sneak from the shotgun on 4th & 1 in the red zone....I thought LT should have been under center.

I agree Frank's retirement will be heavily influenced by Weaver's retirement & health, but I doubt that Shane will be our next HC. No way it doesn't go to Bud. If Bud accepts a coaching job elsewhere, I still don't think Shane is next up (at this point at least).

I don't see us "romping" anyone at this point in the season, if ever...

Word is (and I have a lot of 'sources') that he had to be pulled out of a dust up just before the WCU game. I think the kid has issues and needs to be gone.

Are you saying Beamer is in charge of punt return and kickoff return or Wiles? Either way kickoff return ranks 121 and punt return ranks 81 nationally.

End of story

The "supporting cast" hypothesis could be applied to just about any QB. In recent memory, the only 2 QBs I can think of who broke that rule were Andrew Luck (I swear his WRs had trampolines for hands. He had one or two legitimate receiving targets per year) and RG3. Maybe Newton and Kellen Moore to a lesser extent.

Our program is better than to bend the rules for a valuable player. Hold him to the same standard his teammates are held to. If that means a second chance after a failed drug test, so be it. If it means missing a game, same thing. If its means kicking Journell off the team, then "next man up". But all those guys need to be held to the same standard.
I attended Tech when we played Nebraska in the "convict bowl" in the mid-90s, and Beamer has done a ton to clean up the program since then, and kept them winning as well. I'd be disappointed if he gave special treatment to someone now.

I will now go to virtual NES.com and waste a good hour of company time playing this game. Go Hokies

I'm actually quite relieved with the amount of experience we will have on defense that has faced this offense before. We've got 9 guys starting that have faced this offense at least twice. Tyler first saw the field as a GT specialist. Wilson and Collins have been GT specialists before. Kyle originally showed his potential against GT.

If GT wants to pass it, I'm fine with Kendall and Facyson being out there. They will be 1-on-1 all night and I like their abilities vs. GT's WR's.

I think he proved we should call more fake fumble runs on punts. That's clearly what CFB called there. One defender completely underestimated his speed.

We ran zone read all day and didn't show any playaction off of that. I think this is the week we start seeing more of the playaction. Also, the weather didn't make the playcaller's job any easier. We did see a few good gains on zone read, but I'd say it was used more as a safe play that can be used to set up future opponents/drives for big gains.

Re-reading my comment, I can see how you may have thought my post was directed at you. It wasn't, mainly just some people who are near me during games. I don't think anyone here hates Logan. Mainly I'm just frustrated with a couple of the people who are near me at games (same ones every week).
