whatever you're trying to imply does not sound right at all. You do not know the story and you should not be making accusations like this.

Again - Beamer's retirement will be triggered by one key event - Weaver's retirement. Beamer does not want Weaver picking his successor. When Weaver retires and the new AD comes on board, Beamer will make his pitch to make Shane the HC, and whatever the outcome Beamer will retire shortly thereafter.

Was at the GT/UNC game, wasn't overly impressed by GT on either side of the ball. Their O isn't as good as it has been the past couple of years. You'll hear a lot about Lee being a better passer than Washington or Nesbitt were but that still doesn't mean he's a GOOD passer. Lee is still learning the O and fumbling a lot so we need to jump on those when they happen. Their D is solid but not spectacular, they tackle well but they haven't had any playmakers emerge thus far. Also, it's looking like a starting safety and LB will probably be out Thursday.

I think if LT can limit his mistakes to 1 INT and a couple of miscues and we're able to get the ground game going a little, we'll win by a TD. Look for another sloppy game by both teams though.

I for one can say that I would never call for a OC's head after 5 games with these players on offense.

Besides, I'm having too much fun watching these guys on D. Goshdang they're good.

No, it is not time for Beamer to go. My advice to you is to deny your *self* access to Bleacher Report.

Once again, I think we were seeing Loeffler trying his very best to not run LT3 more than he absolutely needed to, especially in a non-conference game. When it came down to it and he saw that was the only way he was gonna win, he put the ball back in LT's hands and let him win it for us. I have very few complaints about Loeffler at this point.

You get em Beamer! I absolutely love seeing the fire. Should Beamer leave....seriously?

They haven't played anyone worth a damn. I'll take them seriously if they can hang with FSU.

Really? I think we can come back from that. Their offense is definitely good, but Foster has shown the ability to shut them down. Let's be honest, UNC's pathetic excuse for a defense held them to 28. We can definitely hold them below that.

I'm not remotely torn. I'd rather see a worse kicker get a shot. Hand the ball to the next man up and teach him how to kick an onside kick by pulling his back leg around like the Rice kicker did.

UNC and Maryland are our best chances for night games, but I think Maryland is shaping up to be our best chance at a night game if they keep winning because they look damn good.

If it had been against UNC or Miami, sure. But it was against Marshall, who - despite all the talking up they are getting here and elsewhere - is not a Top 25 team. In the past, when we have trouble with the MACs it doesn't play out well in the conference games.

If we go down by more than 7 at any point during this game, it is over. Sorry for the doom and gloom, but that's just the way that I see it.

I'll give Beamer as long as he wants and see the success and the transition of new coaching hires but I would ask that he would consider one thing. Please just oversee the operations of the football team and let someone take over Special Teams. Yes, we had a good game the other day on Beamer Ball but I think Beamer can do a better job and last longer in a less hands on position at this point. The Old man has forgotten more football then most of us will ever know, now is the time to take that knowledge and dedicate it to growing his staff.

I think like everyone else I was hoping that our offense would show up. I know it's a new system with new personnel but we do have play makers. I'm not sure how much of a factor the weather was but I have to agree I felt the play calling was pretty vanilla. GT and UNC both looked decent. I hope we show up Thursday night. I am still optimistic given that we did some much wrong and still beat a decent Marshall that we can have a great season. However it all has to come together at some point and that has to be this Thursday! For now I'm happy we are 3-1 and not 2-2. Go Hokies!!!

I think this is the game where we truly see Loeffler's offense and how good we are offensively. It'll be a good challenge for Bud & co, no doubt, but I have faith in them to do what we need to win. This should be a very good game with big plays/special teams/lucky bounces likely determining the outcome.

The moment Logan completed that long pass against Miami after Tyrod got his bell rung, I knew we were going to be ok with Logan at the helm. And y'know what? We have been. I think our fanbase got extremely spoiled following Tyrod, its almost not fair that Logan was expected to light things up the way he did. But given the BS that Logan has had to deal with in regards to the staff, I'm very grateful he's handled everything as unselfishly as he has

Increasingly, TKP has become my island of sanity surrounded by higher and higher seas of nonsense. The question (or actually more of a statement) about Beamer needing to go came up a lot last week on a number of sports shows as they discussed the Mack Brown situation. Just because Mack doesn't know what to do with all of his talent does not equate to what is occurring in Blacksburg. Coaching up has never been our problem, and Frank could/should stay for that reason. We need a fierce competitor which Frank is. Don't be fooled by the aw shucks and Southern Gentleman.

However, unless you appreciate the thoughtful analysis and discussion of TKP, you will likely jump on the bandwagon of change for change's sake which leads to someone like...Lane Kiffin! Even if you think Frank should retire, at least the debate here is an informed one. Every day, I appreciate TKP more and more!!

I was about to come in and say that Grant Noel almost led us to a win over Miami's 2001 "Dream Team" and say checkmate, but then I checked the stats. Noel completed 25% of his passes that day, plus 1 of 2 on 2-pt conversions (the 2nd being the infamous Wilford drop...) and threw exactly the same number to Miami defenders as to his own receivers (4 apiece). So I'd say the jury is still out on this one.
