Here's the question for everyone though. Would you rather have Journell kicked off the team for his mistakes (which he probably deserves if the failed drug test is true) and work with a guy who struggled, risking missing many more field goals this year in order to say that we don't put up with people who don't follow the rules, or would you prefer to keep him on the team and let this suspension be his punishment for this assuming there are no other issues because he's our most reliable kicker? Would your opinion change if it was someone else like Gayle, Collins, Logan, or Edmunds? After watching Keyserling struggle, I'm very torn as to what I prefer, but I think a point needs to be made that it won't be tolerated. If that means another game's suspension, so be it.
Beamer's not going anywhere. We're 3-1 and some people are acting like we're 0-4. Last year's team would have lost to ECU and Marshall. We may or may not win the ACC this year, but we're looking pretty good for the future. Everybody just take a deep breath and calm down.
I noticed on Bleacher Report that Randy Chambers wrote that Beamer is on the "Hot Seat".

I tend to draw the line after the second chance. Journell was given another opportunity and it appears he's squandered it. It's time for Cody and Tech to move on.
What about a graphic design that has no name, no number, and no likeness to anyone in particular that just says, "FAT MAN TOUCHDOWN!" or something similar. Or, the line from The Replacements, "Who doesn't like to see a fat man score a touchdown?"
No rule breaking there, and everyone would know what/who you're referring to.
Oh yeah. But it cleared easily. Would say have 5-7 more yards. The 47 yarder had a lot of room left on it. Looked longer than the 55.
In my opinion it should be 1, but from what I've read it's 3 at most schools. I think getting arrested counts as 2 strikes though.
Decided to look it up. It was our first multiple OT win. 5-2 all-time in OT with the only losses being to Syracuse in 3OT and Michigan (except Danny Coale caught that ball so I think that should be a tie at worst).
There's no regulation, from what I understand. The NCAA leaves it up to the conferences, who in turn leave it up to the schools. A classic case of passing the buck, really.
Well, I guess it happened.
Does anyone know how many drug tests you need to fail to be suspended? Most schools, it's 3-5 tests that must be failed (!). The Honey Badger said he failed so many at LSU he couldn't keep track.
Great review, Mason! I was wondering myself why we hadn't thrown a pass from under center lately? Maybe it has something to do with not tipping your hand to the ACC, but then again, maybe it's just that Loeffler knows his O-line in its current form isn't where it needs to be to give LT3 time to drop back, set his feet, and then fire an accurate pass? Thoughts?
Also, I was losing my shit on Saturday because we could've eaten up Marshall's defense with a couple quick slants. Their corners were giving plenty of underneath cushion to our receivers and it seemed like we never once took advantage of that fact. I'll definitely be curious to see if that all changes against GT this week.
"Why don't you meet me sometime when you don't have any class"
Great review of both teams, but I had to rewatch one of the clips several times to confirm what I saw during the game. If you watch the last clip from Marshall's offense when Cato throws the TD (00:04:0500:04:12), it's clear that Cato goes beyond the line of scrimmage when he releases the ball. I saw this happen at least 3 times during the game, one was called. Missing it on this TD was a huge gaffe that hurt us. I'm not one to complain about officials, but they were overall horrible. Missed calls everywhere for both teams. Some were very obvious. The one that bothered me the most was that Gator Hoskins was not tossed after punching Kendall (good thing big bro Kyle was there to step in). It was salt in the wound that he caught a TD on the next play as well. Alright, I'm done whining about the refs. They were horrible no matter what, but at least they didn't let one of their players lay on the ball until time expired.
Unfortunately, no. I never got around to trying it.
I just died a little on the inside. There are actually students who never got to experience the awesome drunk food that was Gumby's. This is a sad day...
Yes, was on TV briefly after a missed field goal talking to the kicker.
Actually I think we have won or atleast been close in all of our games so far
Look at things this way. Remember when our defense was on the field the whole game? Yeah, that isn't happening as much now. The O actually is taking up some time of possession.
One can always find stats that will make something look bad.
Damn. Guess I'll have to try Benny's and report. Gumbys had a 20" and all their pizza came with ranch. Good times.
Not many teams can say their kicker is the biggest thug on the team.
I agree. I believe in second chances, but if you blow that second chance, goodbye. Beamer has run a generally clean program for the duration of his tenure here, and I expect him to do what's right in this case. If the allegation is true that he failed a drug test, goodbye and good luck in getting your life straightened out.
I think Journell is and should be done. This is the second game where he's left us high and dry without him because he can't get his priorities straight. This should be the year long suspension and removal from the team. I'm over Journell.
That's probably kicked on a block but still that's impressive.

He'll never be on a "hot seat". The guy built the program and Bleacher Report reporters probably don't know this.
