Again, I really think he thought he had a free play there (I sure thought he did) and took a risk that he normally shouldn't. Other than that, his decision-making looked pretty darn good today, had has for the last couple weeks. He's improving, which is about as much as we can expect from him right now. Once more, wait for ACC play and let's see how it goes.

First off, I really like Logan as a player, leader and as our QB. And I do not agree that Leal would be an improvement, he is a different player and will do some things better and some things worse. (I am looking forward to see him play next year though) The 2 things that continue to disappoint me about Logan as a QB are what you have succinctly addressed. 1) the inaccuracy issue, primarily throwing behind his receivers on crossing routes at times and on long balls, and 2) the decision-making errors when he throws into double coverage, especially when there are other receivers wide open.

I will say that Logan makes some great throws as well, especially when he is not pressured. I think his completion percentage suffers from the inaccuracy issue (as well as the drops, since the 2011 season shows what he can complete with good receivers.) His high rate of interceptions comes from a combo of bad decisions and receivers who don't battle for the ball enough. Still, he's the starting QB and I will keep on cheering for him and hope that he returns to late 2011 form sooner rather than later. I respect the heck out of him and believe that he leaves everything on the field when he plays. Go Hokies! (And thanks Logan for that last TD, great power run sir!)

I think he resorted to running Logan because Trey was hurt. Given the O-line's struggles, giving it to a strong guy who is a playmaker was probably a good choice.

It looked pretty clear that he didn't want to, but that's what it took to win.

I think we wait until ACC play to see what he does. The offense that we saw against Bama and WCU/ECU/Marshall look very, very different. Let's see what we pull out on Thursday and go from there.

Yea, they were starting the "Let's Go" and the East was finishing it. I was busy on the other side of the stands yelling at people leaving and losing my voice. That's 3 straight, I'm gonna make it 4 against UNC.

Just wish my Guard unit wouldn't schedule duty during VT's Military Appreciation Game. Missed it last year, too, and those were some decent alternate unis.

Cato had few problems with the ball being wet. And I know he's had just 9 months of good coaching, but he's had three years in college football to decide whether or not to throw into double coverage with a short receiver. That's not coaching. That's lack of smarts.

Cody better get his tail back on the field. And I'm not buying all this back spasm BS; I think he's got some off-field troubles he's got to work through, but we need a kicking game!

There was one chunk in the lower-right corner (closest to the East stands) that was doing it right. No stupid wave attempts, no airplanes, lots of noise and appropriately-timed and well-coordinated cheers. I applaud you, lower-right chunk of the North Endzone. Students, watch, observe, and learn.

I don't think Lane was this electric since the Miami game in 2011. It was SOOOO good to see BeamerBall back too!

Was anyone else a little concerned with how much Loeffler ran Logan?

I have to disagree with you on LT3 (feel like I say that a lot). I think on the first pick he thought he had a free play and he said himself that he was struggling with the wet ball, with a lot of throws slipping out of his hand. I still think it's much too early to start judging his performance. He's had 9 months of competent coaching (he's just now being coach to actually go through progressions. Seriously, O'Cain?) and four games in a brand-spankin-new offense in which I think we've had a whole lot held out before ACC play. Yet again, I say we calm our collective tits, enjoy a (admittedly sloppy) win, and just see what happens in conference play. Big-boy games start in 5 days.

I think the jury could still be out. I feel like he may be cautions in trying to directly implement a full playbook on someone elses players after the clusterf*** that was Auburn last year. Sure, we are more closer in philosophy then Auburns HUHN offense under Malzahnn, but I feel like we have to give the staff one full year before a judgement.

Everyone left at halftime. But don't worry, those of us who stayed were as loud as we would have been with the people who left. Don't wanna be there? Then screw 'em, we're louder without you.

if he's not doing an outstanding job ,he's at least doing an admirable job as qb...btw,the new offense might be new,but isn't the whole qb position new to him? Wasn't he a tight end or wide out in school ?I may be wrong but I do know he played that position in the Army HS all star game.

Dare I say Loeffler is a worse play caller than Stinespring?

In your anger you put a D in Rogers and have placed us all in jeopardy.

Hell yeah! Teams are gonna have to start respecting that punt block when they play the Hokies from now on, which could open up lanes in the returning game.

block

I won $15 off Beamer Ball being back. Bet two separate people that we would block a punt in the first half. Easy money.
