That's what being a Hokie is about.
Very true. Someone posted a few weeks back that we should easily be going into ACC play 3-1, but I never bought that. ECU always plays us close and Marshall is very good. Turns out we are 3-1, but I wouldn't call it easy.
Good luck to Marshall through the rest of the season. I was very impressed by the way they played. By the looks of their schedule, they could very well be a conference champion and 9-10 win team.
Yeah I wondered about that...I thought marshall was getting a good push and jump
Furreal. I used the dregs of my voice box to let every Marshall fan I saw while leaving the stadium know that I thought they played helluva game.
I prefer the anxiety over having to read about the rest of the game. I'm so disappointed with myself.
...and I'm out of whiskey.
He had enough leg on the 50- yarder if it hadn't been tipped
There was a day when ECU and Marshall were cake walks. They are not anymore, but I am not sure how many people realize this.
I don't know if it's just ignorance or if you really didn't see it, but Keyserling's second kick was blocked I believe. I think two of them were.
A few post-game thoughts:
1. It is possible that my optimism for this season was misplaced. We might just not be as good as I thought.
2. I don't care. That was the most fun I've ever had at a football game, and I can't wait for the next one.
3. We're 3-1, and that's pretty good.
you make me happy :)
First a comment on statistics: 9/30 games is NOT an outlier. The Miami game is an outlier, but 30% of games is not an outlier.
Logan is not an all-time quarterback that he was once projected, but he's still good. He is very inconsistent. When the run-game is inconsistent, the WRs are inconsistent, and the play-calling sequences are inconsistent, Logan has to be elite all the time. Unfortunately, he's not. But, you put him in Alabama's offense, he would be an AJ McCarron clone (maybe more INTs).
I gotta agree. It would have been VERY easy for the team to fold like a deck chair when Marshall took that lead.
But they didn't. They manned up and got it done.
Pick any top 10 ten then add Logan...I promise you his numbers would be much better.
You spared yourself a lot of anxiety, Reese. You're lucky.
Both Marshall and ECU came to play. I think that by seasons end, both of those teams will have 8-9 wins and going to a solid bowl against some B1G or SEC team, who will not take them seriously enough and lose.
see thats the key I made it through the JMU game and Miami in '09 by just wearing sweatpants(or gym shorts) and a jacket and jersey, yea they get soaked but its just so damn comfortable
I think every game you will see improvement. Lot's of haters callin for Leal, but look at all the improvement we have seen before we throw him out. His short to intermediate throws are better than the have been, at least the receivers can get hands on them as opposed to last year. He is now trying to read defenses for the first time ever. Finally, he is learning to check down and is not doing bad. I can't really hate on him too much knowing the full circumstances.
Coleman cannot do what Edmunds can
For real. The more I heard about marshall, the more worried I became. Glad the defense stepped up for the final 2 quarters and 3 OT's
We should take the tickets from the fans that left and give them to kids that would love to be blessed to see their Hokies play.
Guys, ...hey guys, listen..
I have a confession..
I drank too much whiskey.. and I missed the ENTIRE second half of the game :(
I woke up in a full on panic and
JUST discovered that we won in triple OT. I'm so sad.
I said in the game thread that whoever called that they had holes on their punt protection should get a gold star. Congratulations.
Good thing he wasn't making sausage...
I stood out there all game and got soaked and had a great time. If half the students left that's their prerogative. I'm not going to begrudge someone for their decisions on supporting the football team.
