I know self promotion is disliked, but I'll have to toot my own horn a little here...

I was watching last night, I think it was the halftime show of Wisconsin/AZSt right before bed. And Mark May said exactly what I claimed someone would say two weeks ago. Speaking of Alabama's offense, he said something along the lines of, 'Alabama really fixed the offensive line problems they had against Virginia Tech two weeks ago. The Aggies defense couldn't get any pass rush and the line blocked well for TJ Yeldon. Saban really adjusted well and fixed the offensive line'.

NO, MAY, WE JUST HAVE AN ACTUAL DEFENSE!

WOW! I went to bed before this happened and just saw the score this morning. I didn't know it ended like this. Stave really messed that one up. Brutal but so satisfying. I do not like Wisconsin. At all.

I was happy to see Mangus run how he did. Kid looks pretty good with the ball in his hands, and with Edmunds I think we have our 1-2 of the future.

I think the point was that both Logan and the WRs need to still develop some sense of rhythm, and short passes help do that. Given the inability of the WRs to hang on to the ball in previous weeks, taking the high-percentage option is often a good idea. A few shots downfield are always fun, but given the 3 INTs Logan has thrown on those type of plays, and the lack of a really physical WR who can fight for the ball in the air, I'd say it's best to avoid the deep ball until we have really gotten the fundamentals down. In that sense, what we did yesterday was still practice, and it was building towards a larger goal. No sense taking the risky option when the short game is working reasonably efficiently.

I am rolling my eyes. We got the win. There is plenty of analysis to be done between now and Tuesday. Wednesday mind is on Marshall. Fanbases? Unless you are mocking UVA, discussing it here is about as useful as licking a poop flavored lollipop.

Was it me or is our O super-tentative with passing the ball downfield? I feel like there was way too much dink and dunk with our offense. Understanding that are receivers haven't been the model of separation from the dbs, it would have been nice to see them try and stretch it out a few more times. We need the practice.

Everything goes through the offensive line. If we cant field a good line than it doesn't matter who we recruit. We get better wrs next yr In Phillips and Harrison. Rbs is still iffy to me. Everyone is pretty even. We could use a top rb like a Williams, or Wilson. As far as qbs go Bucky is highly rated, but all things I hear about him is that he needs a ton of work and his throwing motion is pretty bad. Ford is loeffler's pick who is enrolling early next yr. And I see ford pushing bucky for the starting job because he has great mechanics and he can spread the ball around accurately. Defense is gonna be solid. Our dline may be a little weak next yr. Will see how the progression goes for the younger guys. But this offense has to get better. Because all these other teams in our conference are loading up and we have not done that this year.

Just for the sake of beamerball not being completely dead, I really hope we get ANY kind of kick blocked next week. I was glad to see Beamer being aggressive in that facet against ECU

I am personally guaranteeing a blocked kick next week against Marshall. I was watching their game against Ohio last night and their punt protection isn't very good, I would not be surprised if we got to one in the first half.

screw the format, the colors alone make my eyes bleed. I clicked on it just to see what the hub bub was about and died a little on the inside...

ECU game plan was to stop the run and force us to throw. That worked for them so we passed a bit more and moved the chains. Receivers got open and caught passes. If we could kick a field goal and extra point, we would have put up 25 points. Credit ECU D, they were pretty tough and they played like this was their superbowl. Our game plan? Run first, then pass. We are not a hard O to figure out so I wasn't surprised we struggled a bit. A win is a win though so bring on Marshall and lets do the same, but with better offensive output.

My aunt went to ECU. She is a big football fan so I typically enjoy Tech playing ECU. But just by going to games there and experiencing them first hand I came to conclusion that a lot of their fanbase is delusional, some of them aren't of course but it seems that of good majority of them seem to be.

Why were they trying to center up a 35 yard field goal with no timeouts left anyway? That's on their coach.

WTH?!!! I am crying laughing at this...great spot.

ummm, is this your first interaction with the base. not all of them are bad, but a larger % than most schools.

i don't enjoy going there to watch football on many levels and i've been to 10+ games there, only 4 of them vt games.

ESPN dare not play that game against NFL and Goodell. Problem with college ranks is that the overall organization (NCAA) is weak and pathetically disorganized, whole the conferences are all powerful.

I saw multiple ECU fans doing the same type of stuff during the week. I don't think it's because they aren't classy, just because they are extremely delusional it seems.

2015 and 2016 have a chance to be the years. But for now we just have to stay patient.

I agree, our defense is probably the best in the nation...top 10 at worst, regardless of statistics. I think I'm going to start buying lottery tickets in the offseason with the sole purpose being to keep Bud in Blacksburg.

What are your thoughts on Motley at QB next year? Everyone seems to either be on the Leal train (most likely scenario IMO) or Bucky/Ford taking over.

The most frustrating thing about Logan is simply his lack of consistency. When he is good he looks like an NFL starter out there throwing frozen ropes. Every now and then, though, he makes a questionable read/throw...I can only imagine what life would have been like this year if we had Loeffler here earlier to develop him for a couple more years.

Personally, I think of him more as any offense's devil...
Can we get him some horns....??
