My 2 cents (and worth every penny) - I would sell the ad space as part of what the fans want to see. For example a transparent background on the left with the two teams stats (so you can read it but still see the full screen), with the sponsor at the top. Scrolling scores and alerts (ala ESPN) at the bottom with "brought to you by".
Other than taking up about 50% of the new screen, what really bugs me about the ads is they sold so much space to small/local companies. How much did Stop In or Zaxby's pay for those spots? It's not like Coke, Apple, BestBuy or some national brand gave a truck load of cash to take up that much screen space. Just seems like small time thinking.
Im pumped, I hope Our D plays like they have this season. I would love to get some Points on D.

Do we know why they were kicked off the team? Could it have to do with the stuff from the Yahoo reports? Maybe they were involved, discovered, or couldn't keep their mouths shut? If it was due to a violation of "team rules" maybe they didn't submit receipts for their "activities" using standard team TPS reports.
Yes, I too want to see our O unleash! That means Logan truckin, Edmunds smashin, and Byrn "Danny Coale" all day long! Oh yes, I'm also ready to see our D get to another level of nastiness.

Andy, another question for you. In your chat today, you mentioned that Grimes may not want to uproot after one year. Remind me, what's the deal with Auburn paying some of his salary and VT paying some? How long does that last? IIRC, it was $400K+ for the next two years with Auburn paying more than 1/2. After that time period is up (2 years?) it will be up to VT to pony up the rest of his salary or he's gone. Would you agree?

I screwed up my ankle last October playing tackle on the drillfield. My right ankle is still 3 times it's normal size. I don't think I'll be doing that anymore.
I don't believe they colluded to screw OKSt, either. But I really don't like a kid taking all he can get, riding the system out, then trying to bury all the people who propped them up. Feels dirty.

But if the opposite happens (perhaps wishful thinking), maybe things would really change. Everyone seems to forget that the Miami case isn't over and the NCAA can still do basically whatever it wants. Given that they've botched it several times over, the outcome won't be as damning as "da U" probably deserves, but still. Realistically, you're probably right but I'm hoping not. If the allegations are true, it's just more evidence of widespread disregard for rules. One would hope that the hammer has to drop at some point, and it seems like this may be one opportunity to do so. I, for one, am sick and tired of all of this stuff happening.
Fixing the problem? Easier said than done, of course. It will take a heavy lift before the NCAA would implement any meaningful reforms.

I have hopefully made the necessary adjustments to not have a repeat of week 1.
1. Roddy White has been benched for his pseudo-handcuff, Harry Douglass
2. Sudfeld has been thrown off the team and replaced with Brent Celek. Bank on that uptempo offense to spread the points around.
3. I plan on streaming defenses, so this week I've targetted the Panthers D against the Bills.
4. Even though I like the Panther Defensive matchup with the Bills, I hope that Spiller will be able to produce.
The funny thing is, nothing is going to come of this. At most, the school will get a slap on the wrist. After the Miami incident, everyone realized that the benefits from cheating far outweigh the risks. What do you think Ole Miss did last year to pull a top 5 recruiting class out of thin air? What do you think Tennessee and Kentucky are doing to pull in ridiculous recruiting classes this year? The system is broken, and at this point it's basically pay to win.
Wisconsin held a movie night to break in their new scoreboard. I wish VT would have done the same thing. I mean, they ended up showing Remember the Titans. I football movie set in VIRGINIA!
