I think this is just an unfortunate confluence of unrelated events.

Thought so. If its out of Oceana then I've probably seen that jet before. I used to lifeguard at a country club right under their flight path to the runway. #AlloftheSuperHornets

If we win the coin toss, how close are we to electing not to play? Should we just pull the ambulance onto the field at the 50 yard line in case the coin hits one of our guys in the head? ....of all the dumb luck you could have before bama...its just...

Do other programs go through this same thing? Or is it just us? I don't follow any other program closely so it seems like it's just us with these problems. Players leaving, so many injuries before the season...WTF?!

Every year its the same thing, injuries (Darren Evans, Exum, Tariq Edwards, Bruce Taylor, etc.) What is up with the program that players want to leave?

You read it correctly, I was just thinking that he may need a rest or Foster may want to show something different. Either way, based off other points I've read, Kyle to whip seems a no go. Now if we can get #WyattForWhip going...

One of the best pics I've seen since this one (also from TKP, some time ago...June 2011). I followed the link to the original post, from an Iraq vet. Thank you for your service and school pride, airman, wherever you are!

I think we are saying the same thing. When the nickel package comes in the whip basically is the nickel. Therefore if Kyle were to play whip and nickle he would be on the field 100% of the time.

Maybe I read Vtfly wrong but I thought he was basically saying in nickel packages Riley comes on and Kyle goes off, or goes to one of the conventional corner positions.

I'm destroyed by the injury to Tony Gregory. Some guys just have that "look", they just have something special to them. I remember the first time I saw Gregory play in a scrimmage at Tech. He had the look. He was just a little big quicker, a little big flashier, a little bit more explosive then others on the field. Sadly, he just couldn't stay healthy. It's a shame.

Rather then clog the tracker with a new forum post, I thought i'd put my thoughts on whip here.

- Losing RVD is a huge setback. The depth at whip is atrocious, and has been for sometime. Recruiting for the LB position needs to improve.

- Kyle Fuller is too undersized to be playing whip full time vs anybody but Georgia Tech probably. If a team comes in with two TE's and a fullback, Tech can't afford to consisently have three CBs on the field.

-Kyle Fuller is also a senior with hopes of getting drafted. Bud Foster probably isn't going to ask him to jeopardize his draft stock by working exclusively as a LB. Kyle will be drafted at the CB spot, and needs the reps there to show teams he's capable of making plays at that position. After all he's meant to the team over the years, Kyle has earned the right to play CB this year.

- One of the walk-ons will probably get significant time at Whip. I doubt one of the other LB's moves over, but they might. Luckily, whip is a position where an instinctive football player can be very efffective, even without great "measurables". I wouldn't be surprised if one of these walk-ons surprises us with how well they play when given the chance.

-In nickel situations, I would prefer to see Kyle play nickel. He's the best tackling CB in the country, IMO.

My response:
