If you go down I-95, I'd pick up I-85 Petersburg. It's about 40 miles shorter than going down to I-20. (However, you do have to go through Charlotte.)

Honestly the worst fans I've come across were Stanford fans in the Orange Bowl. My family was right next to the student section and we were constantly pestered. Most of them were obnoxiously drunk and had very little football knowledge. One girl actually asked me if Tech had ever been to a bowl game before... I remember their students eventually started chanting "state school" once they took a commanding lead. I thought that was the most conceded thing ever. I eventually cussed out one of their fans right in front of my parents, and they didn't even care because of how bad it had gotten. People actually complemented me afterwords because they had gotten so out of hand.

There's another thing besides homegrown talent that the real U had, swagger. All lolUVA has is zima.

The best fan bases Ive seen are Nebraska followed by Clemson. UGA and UT seemed ok along with GT. Miami, Maryland, Bama and WVU fans. Ive heard both extremes on LSU. Heard A&M are great.

So we were out on Bourbon Street and a couple of MV's were at a strip club. They got talking to one of the dancers. Found out she just graduated from UVA...

Nothing but good things to say about Michigan fans. At the Sugar Bowl we had about a 30 minute walk home to our hotel in full uniform. We kept passing Michigan fans that said we played a great game, we were classy, and that we should have won haha.

They even complemented us, the band, saying we were incredibly loud and sounded great. Which is pretty impressive considering Michigan is arguably the best band in the land.

Now Rutgers on the other hand was a different story. There were a few instances where their fans wouldn't stop jawing at us during pep rallies and parades. One was pretty funny actually. We were in a parade at Universal Studios and this woman started to spazz out at us. She was yelling that we were the worst team in the FBS and didn't even deserve to be here. To top it off she yelled something on the same lines as "Go to hell!". Classy.

the only bammers i've encountered in person are hardly bama fans at all. they dont go to games, have possibly never even been in the state of alabama, dont really follow the team, probably couldnt name more than saban and a couple starters, and many of them really arent even fans of college football in general. no these bammers are spreading like wildfire, and they're people who just watch them on tv and decide, "hey they win game, i like them."

alabam has become the new notre dame. these folks know jack shit about college football but know enough to understand bama is heavily favored over vt and decide to talk shit. mention shaun alexander and they look at you like you're speaking portuguese, it's so obnoxious. they were probably florida fans when tebow was there, texas fans when they had it going, usc fans when carol was winning mncs, u fans before that etc etc etc.

Is South of the Border still a place to go? I went there 10 years ago and it was a dump.

Wait, so London came up with a philosophy to build a program from a 30 for 30 movie? He's even more of a joke than I thought!

Awesome I will see yall there then! Who's down for some flipcup?

Best: Michigan fans because I went down to the Sugar Bowl with my wife and unfortunately got seats in their section and the whole game we were both complementing each others players and even lucky moments which UM had a lot! By the end of the game everyone except one drunk guy shook my hand and said good game and that we definitely one that game.
Worst: Bama/FSU, bama fans have become so snobby and arrogant with their (back to back NCs) that they can't even care for any other team, especially outside the SEC. FSU the only thing they got for them... that stupid chop. By the way I would really like to know the % of Bama fans to those that actually have degrees there? Anybody?

Wow, I get to see gameday Joe at his finest. My life is complete!

problem with that is london is no schnellenburger, or johnson, or butch. . . ok he might have a little butch in him as far as being a good recruiter and bad gameday coach.

Yes, this is where I'll be. The alumni association in Atlanta is putting on a great event.

Best: Nebraska, they may be the absolute best mannered fan base in the country (next to ours of course). If you walk into a Nebraska tailgate you may think you just walked into Canada, they are that nice!

Worst: FSU at the ACCCG back in 2010. They were AWFUL! All they did was yell at Hokie fans and mention something about JMU....they seemed to think we lost to them or something. And of course that horrid horrid song and chopping motion thing just get's old after about halfway through the first time you hear it. It was great to see them leaving the stadium early that night.

We all hate wvu. Growing up a Herd fan and now a Hokie, Ive hated them forever. Same with uva

The best was that night, because WVU was playing LSU. We were all at a bar and every single person was rooting for LSU. It was about 50/50 Hokies/Marshall but we were all WVU haters that night.

Agree on the Marshall statement. We got nothing but love when we went to the game from the Alumni. However, the students could use some work. They tended to be vulgar and talked a lot of trash. This was always countered by an older Marshall fan inviting us over for free food and drink.

The kids are having a soccer tourney that weekend in Woodbridge, i'm not familiar with the area. Suggestions on a good place to watch the game?
