Nobody ever talks about our receivers because we rarely have a QB that's capable of getting them the ball consistently, and we also have a run-first offense, except for when O'Cainspring calls the play-action sack, which I'm pretty sure still goes into the "rushing" column on the stat sheet. Hopefully this will change a little with our new offensive staff.

That was before my time, but '09 was awesome too. They had all this hype around them. ESPN says "the U is back!" "Jacory for Heisman!" Only person on air with any faith in us was Tony Kornheiser, who on PTI said "I don't know how anyone can possibly be favored as an away team in lane stadium, have you been there before?!"

Then the rain comes... and the TDs... and a blocked punt. We kicked the shit out of them, 31-7 I think? I'll never forget walking back to my apartment, soaking wet from the rain, but I didn't care, it was great.

I'm pretty sure Poquoson is D3. I just checked the playoff teams from last year, and the only D4 teams from the BRD that made the playoffs were Grafton and Warhill, and Warhill is Warhill, so I listed Grafton.

Phoebus moving to D4 will do nothing to prevent Poquoson or any of the other D3 teams from competing, since they won't even have a chance to play each other.

In case anyone is curious, here is a PDF showing the districts and each team's new division, which only matters come playoff time (and possibly when scheduling non-district games): http://www.vhsl.org/doc/upload/rr-2013-14%20and%202014-15-final-alignmen...

LISTEN TO ME AND LISTEN GOOD. If you are tailgating at a bar, make it STATS.

Sorry, if you're mixing american honey bourbon with anything, you need to check your man-card at the gates. You can drink that stuff straight out of the bottle through a straw (provided the straw is long enough and preferably with coils).

This is coming from someone whose gf constantly rags on him for getting girly drinks at bars.

I live in the Atlanta 'burbs. Used to go to the game watching parties that the Atlanta Hokie Club does, and they usually put on a fun time. Still haven't done a tailgate yet, though. There's plenty of places near the stadium (google maps is your friend), and you can also hang out at places near the other MARTA stations and then catch MARTA to the stadium when it's time. The cost of the tailgate vs. the cost of pre-gaming at a bar/restaurant though...that $35 will seem awful cheap when you get your tab somewhere else!

I feel like the Gator Bowl has lost a lot of its luster. It used to be 2 teams that barely missed the BCS bowls. Maybe it was due to the decline of Big East plays and the Peach (I'm sorry...Chick-fil-A) Bowl getting the ACC #2, that they tried to shake things up and went Big Televen/SEC - but now they are so far down the pecking order, they are stuck with the scraps.

Coined by ESPN as the Rematch of the Decade the Hokies will take another swing at the 2012 National Champs after a strong showing in the 2009 Kickoff Game.

CAN'T WAIT

Safeway? They always have the worst beer prices, but I'm lazy and its close to my house so I usually end up paying them

I'm not advocating for or against it in anyway. I've never been to Hotlanta so I have no idea what the tailgating/bar scene is like at the dome. It just seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

IIRC they also brought in portable lights for night games when the stadium was under construction in the mid-2000s

With our group of 12 we can each spend $10 and get enough alcohol for the weekend. Food? Who needs food when you have beer!

Where is the dreamland you live that 3 cases of bud light is $35, i need to move there

Food is included too, plus a band on the stage (I'm assuming Brittney Spears, but unconfirmed).

it says all the Bud Light PRODUCTS you can drink, so I'm assuming yes. Plus, Natty would make it a classy party

How did it take this long for someone to mention "best food" in a pitch to recruit the OL? SMH...

inundated with SEC (and living with an Auburn gal)

Well at least she should be pretty quite after the Chizik dumpster fire last year...so you got that going for you
