Your comment has me torn. On one hand WVU does deserve the middle finger. On the other hand, giving WVU the finger shouldnt be limited to only one time.

Ultimately you get the turkey leg, but be careful with that whole "dont always give the eers the finger" nonsense.

I did some fairly extensive research on this a few weeks ago and posted the results on TSL. The bottom line is that Grimes has had at least 25 players that he coached at the college level who then went on to draw a paycheck from an NFL team at one time or another, even if it was just for a couple of weeks at rookie camp.

Also, while about 25-30% of the OL that Grimes recruited before getting to VT were 4-star guys and there was, I think, one 5-star guy in there somewhere, roughly 2/3 of them were either 2-star or 3-star recruits coming out of high school.

classic! This one has always been my favorite!

If anyone cares im making a sequel/remake to this with the new 300 movie.

Just curious, I thought there was only 4 years of eligibility...

To be honest, I really enjoy TSL and I'm not really sure where all the hate is coming from. I don't spend much time on their forums except the recruiting one (just to see if anything new is coming out of there). I very much enjoy the articles and the photography work Russian Hokie does. My point is this: what are we achieving by slamming another Hokie site all day? In my opinion, not a lot. They are very different sites with the same goal, and that is to support and enjoy Tech athletics. Can we please stop sippin so much of the hate-orade?

For us well-aged Hokies, lest we also forget we had "Student-Life-and-NCAA-Honorary-Diplomat" Marcus Vick in '05 giving the finger to all four corners of the stadium on that last road trip, every chance he got close to the sidelines -a few NOT getting edited out on the live TV broadcast. And I thought he was such a classy lad.

That's said; I do miss that rivalry; even thought their radio play-by-play guys were dickholes... I very much enjoyed beating that ass...

GIF's like this totally validate my decision to blaze through three seasons of GoT, in part so that I could understand the numerous references made to it on TKP.

granted i've never been to morgantown but i've never been treated as poorly as i was in byrd. hell, a friend and i were sitting in their section at lane and it was a constant barrage of shit talking and personal insults.

I'm sorry the "be part of creating a legacy" argument is complete bullshit. If that were the case, James Johnson would be able to pull high quality recruits to "create a legacy" with Hokie Basketball.

Even though we have a reputation for losing big games, WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY IN BIG GAMES. We can practically guarantee recruits that in their five years of playing for Virginia Tech, they'll have the opportunity to play for multiple ACC championship games, at least 1 BCS bowl game and high profile OOC games such as Ohio State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame. #LOLUVA can't even guarantee their players will play in multiple bowl games in any given five year span.

In their defense...

A lot of them were there the last time we played in Morgantown. WVU's fans were upset that we were moving to the ACC and it sounds like they weren't civilized during the game. I'm sure a lot of their disdain stems from that awful experience. Getting spit on, thrown at and verbally abused is never fun. I guess there isn't "Mountaineer Respect" in Morgantown.

But it's been enough time between the last time we played them and 2020 where it shouldn't be a problem.

In conclusion, TSL blows.

a quick check of the schedule shows the following records (Im including bowl games, even Rutgers....). In parenthesis are games on basic TV (ie ABC/NBC, so would be national TV record minus games on ESPN/ESPN2)

2010: 5-2 (2-0)
2011: 4-3 (2-0)
2012: 2-3 (0-1)

So while not a good record, it is above 0.500 (mostly)

I need to find this hat so one day I can pass it along to my kids.

Most of the TEs we bring in that you mentioned didnt play TE in high school, its just where they're projected to play. Case and point, LT played QB for his HS team
