^^^^^Can we make those a thing?
Those eers totally deserved that middle finger. But that should be the only time. Very distasteful otherwise. Damn funny though lol
"It's just that sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion"
It'll be ok man. Thanks for heads-up that news was on the way. No hard feelings here.
Big reason why I let my subscription run out there. Their "expert" insight has gotten worse, and the posters there spend more time laying into you for disagreeing than they ever provide evidence to get you to agree. I like intelligent back and forth, with eveidence and sound opinions.
Man, knowing how old I am.....those guys must be fossilized over there...yeesh!
Something like this?.....
I'll be 32 when we travel to...oh hell, it will be the 2014 season. Wherever we go that year.
I love how this thread turned into vigilante justice. Don't worry kenny, now that this is out of the way, I'm sure you'll rebound nicely.
I really hope he is successful in persuading Beamer to over-recruit the OL. OL recruiting really is close to a total crap shoot. So the best defense is to make sure that you always have enough of them in the program so that the law of averages is always working in your favor. I hope we can squeeze in 5 OL in this class and that we will make it a habit to take at least 4 OL in every class from now on.
I'm 33 right now. Get off my lawn.
He was prescient. Knew VT would be beating up on Boston College.
No he didn't. Come on man. You were in the wrong. You made a post that you shouldn't have and replied just normally in the thread a ton of times. Nothing you posted or said had any substance.
In retrospect, I do appreciate the middle fingers Marcus gave, only because it was against WVU. Had it been against anyone else, I don't think I would look back on it fondly.
However, my favorite Hokie/WVU moment was the game in...what, 2005 or so? I think WVU ended the year 11-1 and won the Fiesta Bowl with their only loss to us. I think that it was the same year where we knocked out their QB and their RB and both got replaced in the game with...Pat White and Steve Slaton. They were two injuries away from being a newly dominant force and we did it for them. But we also did it to them. And won the game.
I figure 1999 is going to be the big one, but I was in Michigan on a school trip (to study the architecture at Cranbrook), so I actually missed this game. I only saw the highlights of it after the fact at a local bar (where they advertised "Food & Drink").
For me, it was 1998:
It was our first home game since losing the Homecoming game to Temple. Yes...Temple. This was back when each student had an athletic card and you had to take it to Cassell to get it punched in order to get your ticket. Well, for reasons beyond my memory, I was not able to secure a ticket. Luckily, a friend had a relative with season tickets who could not attend - so we got them. To our surprise, the tickets were in the first row...right behind the WVU bench. We traded verbal blows with the WVU bench all game, particularly #18, who would turn and tell us to quiet down every time Amos Zereoue broke off another run.
The big moment came in the 3rd quarter when WVU had the ball on our 1 yd. line and we stuffed them on 4 straight downs. We erupted after the turnover on downs, yelling back at their bench, especially #18. We took over from there and coasted to an easy victory.
I still have that ticket-stub somewhere, I need to see if I can find it.
Edit: Found it!
Why is the turkey the best mascot for the country?
Because 'Merica! That's why!
I'm kind of OK with getting a lot of high school QBs. They tend to be pretty versatile, and in high school the talent pool is limited. Lots of schools take their best player and make them the QB simply to get the ball in their hands. Whether they end up as QB, DB, WR, or even TE (Booooone), I like fitting the best player on a high school team into our schemes. I'm less enthralled with bringing in TEs.
I came into this thread half hoping we were on the radar of a recruit named Ben Franklin. That'd be badass!
'Merica
Former Highlands district player here as well- Bearcat though. We took the district my senior year so that was pretty sweet. Battle was LOL bad when we played so it was upsetting to hear they beat Va High this past season (twice actually- and I think they beat Abingdon and Marion as well).
Great find Mike, I didn't know the AAC thought so highly of the ACC...
"You know that the ACC is truly the best conference of them all, but you want everyone else to be able to see it too!"
I think by the time they all figure out who they are playing with, the AAC will be no more. ESPN can't even correctly identify where half the teams are located.
Kam was mostly a QB recruit but he played corner/safety at Maury so they knew if he wasn't going to pan out at QB then he would be ok in the secondary. He also played basketball for so they knew they were getting an athlete.
Yes. He is following his recruiting M/O to a tee. Mitchell is defintely the big get in the class. His film is really impressive. The only reason he isn't a top tackle prospect is his height (might be an inch to an inch and a half too short to handle the length of an elite edge rusher). I really like him as noted in the post when he committed.

I'll listen to Chris Coleman's radio segments, but that's about it for TSL.
