We used to play our star starters on special teams but we dont anymore. There was no reason for Marcus Davis not to be coming off the edge trying to block punts last year.

Hate to bring it up, but what about Corwin Cutler and his Dad and his influence in that area. Brown and Cutler are good friends. We know how much Cutler's dad hates VT. How much could that have played into the whole mess?

Remember Kai Parham and Ahmad Brooks...We landed Marcus that year but overall UVA got most of the predicted talent in state that year...what happened? our class ended up so much better with Tapp and Burchette Imoh and Jimmy williams etc.
It's incredible to see how an average season of 7-6 and a complete lack of offensive play-makers has had such significant recruiting effects on VT. One "down" year and everyone is looking elsewhere.
I don't know if this is a fair statement. We don't have a history of pulling in top recruits to start with. That being said, the down season cannot be blamed for it. I think your other points coupled with "VT losses on the big stage" are much more damaging.

Oh weird - it looks like my comment didn't get posted. Anyway, here are my observations:
1. From what I can tell, The uniforms look exactly like they do in NCAA '13. All they did was get rid of the 2006-2009 uniforms
2. The vintage logo still appears in the V-neck
3. The number still covers the shoulder stripes on the orange jersey
4. Can't tell if they added any of the new helmets (I only want the matte Fighting Gobbler helmet, the rest I can do without).
5. No Wounded Warrior jersey
If VT is fighting recruit's perceptions there is not much you can do but to disprove the perceptions. That means results on the field or off the field. Need success in both education and athletics. Keep showing our leadership in all areas.

I think the best part about that game is that one of my friends goes to UVA and he was talking so much trash leading up to the game. He came over to my house to watch and left by halftime. According to him he had something else to do, probably had to go cry or something.
