Not sure if it's just because I'm on IE8 at work, but one thing I've noticed is that the RSS feed image and link is not inline with the rest of the top content bar. It is currently appearing below the YouTube link. Could very well be just because I'm on IE8 and IE in general sucks. I know when you first made the new site, IE8 wasn't compatible at all, but now it seems to be fully functional minus this part. I'd upload an image but I can't seem to access imgur at the moment.

Upvoted to get Joe to 5,000 turkey legs. If I don't do anything else productive for the whole day, I'll still have this...

I think I have another nasty little bug fixed. The one where you get a database error when trying to embed tweets with "funny" characters in them. Previously, this should have caused a problem.

Now it should work fine. Yay it does! (Leap of faith.)

Let me know if you run across any weird things happening with the content of your comments, blog posts, or forum topics. I could be over filtering things.

I tell you what, I love when we get commitments like this. I know we've had our share of disappointing news lately when it comes to recruiting, but you have to smile when you see a guy who truly WANTS to be a Hokie. He's wanted to go to Tech since he was in elementary school, and what's the first thing he did when he got an offer from us? He told his mom how excited he was. I know that he's not a 5-star recruit, but I also know that playing for Tech is a dream come true for him and he will bust his tail for us on every single down.

Can someone provide insight as to whether or not Pitt still has the ability to block his destination? Does he need to enroll somewhere in order to relieve himself of any restrictions?

I believe you're right in that Pitt can still dictate where he can and cannot go, but I wanted to throw it out to see if any wiser TKP-ers know what his status is.

Agreed.

I'm sure if someone asked Nnadi how he feels about all of this his response would be...

Alot of them do. Even some members of the coaching staff and trainers, etc, believe it or not.

Everyone watches the youtubes

Anyone else notice that he grew an inch between the article date and the current date? I like it. The nice thing about Harris not qualifying is that we don't have a scholarship held up anymore.

WVU and OSU are probably the closest. I doubt Pitt would allow a transfer to WVU though. OSU wouldn't need him, but after all, they are Meyers. Akron is pretty close, and in the MAC. I would think that is his best bet.

Welcome, Shawn!

So many 'deliver the Payne' jokes to tell my brain is shutting down. Can't...figure out....which one to use....[mental blue screen]

That would be good. At this point Brown is on top of the world and everyone loves him. Nnadi is feeling snubbed and angry and disrespected. I'll take angry and disrespected for a National Championship please.

Ah man, he is? And I was looking forward to being an asshat again...ah well.

If this isn't best canvas for Foster to create another masterpiece, I don't know what is. I will take a pissed off, mad at the world, chip on his shoulder, ready to prove the world wrong kid any day of the week. All you have to do is commit Mr. Nnadi and your destiny awaits.

I saw that. I can't blame them though. He says he wants to stay at Piit to be closer to his kids, which I completely respect. I wonder where he ends up. WVU maybe? I don't believe they are very far from Pitt.

haha, no idea. not sure how many players/recruits watch them. I did, however, let Luther Maddy preview the upcoming trailer and he loved it. So that has to mean something.

I don't care about any player that wants to go to LOLUVA. There is no reason pertaining to football to want to go to UVA. Terrible coaching, terrible tradition. Even though it's a top-25 academic school, most firms won't take their players seriously for jobs/internships because they know that he (probably) couldn't get into UVA on academic merit (that's probably a dick thing to say, there are some scholarship players that are pretty smart but I'm talking about from a general standpoint).

Simply put, if a player signs with UVA it means he doesn't care about football. Period. I don't want any player who doesn't care about football to ever play for Virginia Tech.

They can continue to produce four-star busts. I'm happy with the two-stars who go to Tech and make the NFL.

This conversation has definitely been fun, and other then talking to Loeffler directly it's impossible to say who is correct.

IMO, the receiver at the top of the screen isn't reading "man or zone", but rather the depth of the CB. If the CB gives him a large cushion it doesn't necessarily tip his hand if it's a zone or a man coverage (For example, a CB in Cover-3, Cover-4, or single man coverage could all have the same depth, making it to hard for an OC to ask his WR to diagnose which one he is in), but a large cushion should theoretically allow the WR to beat the defender with a good out route or curl route.

Could the RB be missing his blitz read? Sure, it's possible. Many (read: most) have this read in their passing plays. However in this case, I believe Loeffler is keeping the RB in to block regardless simply because of his tendencies. Loeffler loves keeping extra men in to block. I believe on this play, he left the RB into block because he knew he wouldn't need the outlet.

The design of the play is to take what the defense is giving up, the intermediate middle of the field, by having two deep safeties. It's where Frazier looks right after the snap, it's where Loeffler sends 3 WR's, and it's where the throw is directed towards an open player. COULD Loeffler have intended on sending the RB to the flat if no blitz? Yes. But I'm not sure the benefit of doing such a thing would have outweighed the benefit of an extra blocker.

Yeah, I know what you mean...

Todd Nolen was Tyrod Taylor's favorite target his sophomore season at Hampton, really the guy who helped TT really start to get some serious attention, and was a really good receiver. He went to prep school for a year then bounced around JUCOs for 2 or 3 years, just trying to qualify.

Also, Elan Lewis broke all sorts of VHSL state records at Phoebus before coming to Tech, but he was plagued by injuries and never made an impact on the field.
