This "French Elite" league....it's flag football? Surely, it would have to be. Nobody in a French league is going to hit anyone....unless, of course somebody insults another player's sister, resulting in a nasty head-butt (see: French World Cup action highlights...or lowlights...or whatever).

On kind of a random note, does anyone remember a highlight video of the 2008 (I think) team set to music from the Transformers score, about 10 minutes long? It was one of my favorite VT football videos but I can't find it anymore.
Harris and Fisher can't enroll at any NCAA division 1 school. Neither of them met NCAA minimum requirements. Harris because he didn't get credit for an online course or two, and Fisher because he didn't meet the required GPA/SAT combination. And while Harris is having to go the JUCO route and probably won't play for VT, there's a very good chance that Fisher improves his grades/scores enough during a post-grad year at FUMA that he'll be able to enroll in July 2014, maybe as early as January 2014.
I am having trouble getting my head around this. If Harris is just missing a couple classes (that he didn't get credit for) then why can't he just go and take those classes (at JUCO) and then come to VT? It seems pretty straight forward to me. I would think that would be easier than Fisher's issue with grades and SATs, because he hasn't proven that he can get the grades/scores yet. Is VT not willing to give Harris credit for the classes after a certain point?

I get the impression that you're thinking, "I wonder how that kid would look in maroon and orange?" I doubt that Pitt would allow him to transfer to an ACC school. I'm not sure how the release agreements are set up, but usually schools can block transfers to same conference schools, major rivals etc.
That being said, I'd love to offer him the opportunity to exact revenge on the boys from the 'burg and put him in #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING.
Yea...Vic Hall played QB at one of the local high schools near me. Before he came, the school had a 3-4+ year losing streak....with him, they played in state championships, or got close enough to play in them. I still maintain if Groh hadn't wasted Hall, he would have been a hell of a QB, but that's Virginia for ya!! Now he plays CB for some CFL team.
I believe they have post-game snacks of brie and wine in this league so it's only fitting that he would end up there.

Ahh...the 2008 season finale against UVA. That was the game that we lined up in the Wild Turkey with Boone, put Tyrod out wide, and he ran a streak. Boone launched a 40+ yard throw that was going straight to Ras-I Dowling. Dowling jumped and just got his hands on the ball when Tyrod took his legs out and flipped him head over heels. Wasn't sure Dowling was going to get up, but that was probably one of my favorite Tyrod plays.
