Still is.

Nice ending. Surprise, surprise, Danny Coale was open.
Thomas may not be shifty, but geez he can put the hurt on somebody.
I think the entire offense has to be able to block downfield. In one of the Ohio State highlight above, the quarterback gained monster yards thanks to blocking by the wide receivers. If Moorehead is able to preach it as he promised, I am looking forward to seeing Thomas lumber down the field a la Miami last season (73 yards!) for a touchdown.
What about Notre Dame instead of SEC opponent? I really really hate ND.
I have very mixed opinions on the issue. Our athletes already receive free tuition, free meal plan, free medical expenses (both surgeries, access to trainers/physical therapists, and medication from Schiffert), free lawyers (if necessary) and free tutoring services. They also get preferential treatment from teachers and other students, and get away with a lot more than the average student.
All that being said, I find it incredibly immoral to cap one's earning potential, and incredibly immoral for EA, Nike, etc to profit off a player's "likeness," especially when that player cannot earn off his or her likeness.
I am firmly against putting players on a payroll, or giving them an additional stipend. IMO, a scholarship athlete should get the same scholarship benefits as a student who does research/TA's in exchange for a scholarship. I think I agree with Bilas, who preaches the olympic model. Athletes should be able to take advantage of their marketability.
+1 for coherent strategerization on the strength of two rails.
Another problem I see that may happen with that is companies like Nike and Under Armour who basically have a single college that they support most (Oregon and Maryland) might sponsor the best players on their teams only, which will basically tell recruits in high school the only way they'll get a sponsorship from them is if they go to one of those two schools. I'm not saying kids from other schools wouldn't get anything, but the big ones might just go to players on these two schools
Pretty much:

Bruce Matthews was one of the top 5-10 offensive linemen in the NFL for almost 20 years. He was a student of the game, and had great positioning and fundamental footwork to go with his brute strength. That is a pretty good role model.
... of course, mine was Tony Boselli. (Married a USC cheerleader, cashed checks, and whipped our guy Bruce Smith like he stole the oatmeal.)
Joe nailed it. I think it is a lock that Hand goes to a school that plays a 4-3 defense (I would guess Michigan.) We saw him in person last year where he was utilized as a nose tackle, and on film, his strength is shedding the defender at contact. He has zero experience playing in space, and while he is a supremely gifted pass rusher and athlete, having the instinct to keep contain responsibility and know when to drop back into coverage and be effective is a nuance that is very unnatural to most great defensive ends. Jonathan Allen, the top defensive player in Virginia in the 2012 class, was an even more perfect fit for the Bud Foster defense than Hand (although not as elite an NFL prospect), yet went to Alabama and by most accounts has languished. He isn't in the prospective two deep for next year.
Bruce Matthews was a legend and probably hall of famer
I would take the bama win. I don't care about the UVa. Rather play WVa
OSU dline = nasty
Recently, it has not been Alabama going after 4* recruits; but 4* recruits going after Alabama. That is the sad part.
I SOOOO wanna buy you a drink for posting this.
I realistically give VT a 20% chance of beating Bama. It's not imposable but extremely difficult. I'm just tired of Alabama going after every 4* or 5* kid we offer and have a good chance to land. Go do your own homework Nick Satan and leave Va. alone before I come to your house and put my feet on your couch.
So this kid wants to go Dot Urban Meyers' Brown Eye!? Way to Fail kid.... way to FAIL!
I asked him who he models his game after, and his reply was, "Bruce Matthews." A quick search yield him as the uncle of Casey and Clay Matthews. I really hope he comes to Tech.
Edit: by the way, he also tweeted he would announce his top three teams today, so be on the lookout.
The best part was Saban having the look on his face like he was going to throw up.
"Down in Blacksburg its sure getting crucial. The Canes and Hokies is huge as usual."
I was there and its the best atmosphere i've been a part of at a VT game. It was fun from start to finish. That is including some of the 1999 games. The crowd was electric that night and the team did not disappoint.
TCU Baylor 2010 I believe it was....whatever RG3s senior season was, the best individual performance I've ever seen and an incredible game all around really back and forth! I knew RG3 was something special when I watched that game
People can sugarcoat it all they want, but the 2014 recruiting cycle has been a disaster. Yeah its only June but not getting Hand, Brown, Blanding, Moss, and Holmes is not good. Frank Beamer is a Legend but recruiting won't change until he retires. The next AD has to hire someone young and can recruit his ass off like a Dabo Swinney. Beamer also seems to make every wrong in game decision when it comes to big games and don't get me started on how Stinespring ineptness has kept offensive talent away from Blacksburg
I'm really liking how many of his highlights end with his opponent either on the ground or out of the frame. Here's hoping Ole Miss is completely oblivious.

Seriously, what the eff is a "ting tang?"
