I'm proud to say that I was a member of the App. State Team that beat Michigan in 2007. One of the biggest roller-coasters of emotion I've ever been a part of. Michigan took 4 years to recover from the aftermath. Unfortunately, they won the Sugar Bowl to prove it. Karma sucks.
I'm gonna have to go with the Ravens-Broncos playoff game this past year..... Not that I'm biased or anything towards the ravens.......
Indecision is such an awful thing.

Agree with everything you said, but I think the belief is we want to get the best players we target. I think we target good players who are a good fit for the "VT-way." I don't care if we miss a player who is big headed or not a good VT fit, The problem is when we don't land the guys we want/when we miss out on players we put a lot of effort into recruiting.
What's with all the new people spewing hate and getting down voted? Pretty rough to lurk on the outside and then get shelled your first post...
Fresno St vs USCw in 2005 heartbreak city for Fresno St and Reggie Bush's was in video game mode.
wouldn't the run in that first clip have worked out if #11 had made his block on the outside?
Probably just trying to figure out what he' going to have for dinner though...
there were cutbacks in a couple of those clips above that the Auburn RB missed.
If his move to guard sticks through fall camp, you can bet we'll see what French described about the center bypassing the NT and leaving him to the guard.
lol at the idea of a Bama boy buying a #BEATBAMA shirt :)
I totally share your enthusiasm, especially after reading Mason's post, but would say Loeffler needs to put a little more success on tape before we can call him "elite" or even "very good."
I'm one of the few that is bearish on Logan Thomas' QB skills, but it really sounds like Loeffler's O will be perfect for LT3 (and also sounds like Ocainspring's O was as bad of a fit as could be), and if Grimes can upgrade the run blocking and Edmunds breaks out, all this chatter that "Miami is Back" will hopefully be silenced. I'm already fired up for that game on November 9th.
Arkansas vs LSU when they went into about 6 overtimes. believe it happened 2 out of 3 years
See, I would agree, but every time I see that ad it reminds me of a cold rainy Thursday night in Blacksburg that will have nothing more said of it here.
Easy, the ESU Timberwolves vs GT!
I think I'm starting to understand what drug addiction feels like, cause I can't get enough of this stuff. I couldn't be more giddy to see our offensive weapons actually used like they should be. I can't count the number of times I just sat there with my mouth open wondering why in the world LT3 was running A DESIGNED RUN outside (or, for that matter, why Scales wasn't getting a lot more touches. #Scales4Heisman). As excited as I was when the coaching changes were first announced, I have come to absolutely LOVE the hire of Loeffler especially. Every time I see what he did at Temple or Auburn (when his QB could actually make the play, don't mean to hate on the kid, but it's true), I usually feel the need to change my shorts afterward. For years, we've had an ELITE defensive STAFF with a very mediocre offensive staff. Now, we have 2 elite coordinators backed up by very good to elite assistants. Will we dominate every game and finally fill that trophy case this year? Unlikely. However, I feel like any loss we suffer will happen because our opponent manned up and beat us. We won't be beating ourselves (as much).
Not at all.
hokieNskins, your name makes me think you and could get along. But -2 turkey legs total?
Yes, Stiney wasn't any good at coaching. He has been a relatively effective recruiter, but on offense, a disaster. Still managed to pull in Tyrod, Logan, RMFW, DW4 (not sure if he was the primary recruiter in any of those, but they still came to play in the offense).
As far as Beamer's in-game decisions, the only ones that really kill me are when he tries to go for it on fourth and short when we are in field goal range to 'set the tone'. It usually works in setting the tone, but it is usually with a fourth and no. Momentum swings in the game and we almost always seem to lose after one of these.
But when it comes to big time recruits, there's a fine line to walk. Up here a few years ago, JoePa went to visit the top recruit in the country to try to get him to come to Penn State. Didn't like his attitude when he met him, but still they wanted him. Guy chose to go to Ohio State. You may have heard of him, big QB, tattoos, etc. Suspended when he got into the NFL for a few games to pay his NCAA punishment. Backup to - get this - Matt McGloin, the walk-on who didn't get a scholarship because JoePa was busy offering the other guy. Moral of the story is that sometimes not getting a big time recruit is a blessing in disguise. Sometimes egos get in the way of team building. And Beamer seems to like taking Trey Edmunds and JC Coleman types, whose who buy in and focus on team.
"like he stole the oatmeal"
I'm using this later, thanks french. Having said that, my favorite OLs were the Hogs.

No idea who these guys are but I support them.
So with the obvious misfit, why do they keep getting interest from Bama?
Great job with this
As long as we retain the Commonwealth Cup for another 365 days, I can be happy with the outcome of #beatbama. (Is that so wrong??)
I would take as many wins as possible.
12-2 with a loss to Bama and a loss in a BCS bowl is a really good year. 5-8 would be terrible and really hurt recruiting.

Amazing! wont be able to focus on anything else at work for the rest of the day
