My schedule fix: 16 teams, 4 pods

Play:

  • Everyone in your Pod
  • 1 "rival" from every other Pod
  • 2 games rotating from the other teams
  • 2 round ACC 'playoff.' One 4 team pool for each pod's #1 team, a second for each pod's #2 team, etc. In the first round ACC North plays ACC Mid Atlantic and ACC Carolina plays ACC South. Home team for first round rotates yearly (in 2014 ACC North and South schools have home field, in 2015 ACC Mid Atlantic and Carolina have home field, etc). Finalists of the first place pool play at Charlotte in the ACC Championship. Other finalists can play at home, there can even be 3rd place games.

ACC North:
BC
Syracuse
Pitt
Uconn

ACC Mid Atlantic
VT
UVA
ND
UL

ACC Carolina
UNC
NCst
Wake
Duke

ACC South
Clemson
GT
FSU
UM

IMO, b/c of the rise of technology, going out of state isn't what it was 10 years ago. Between skype, smart phones, social networking, etc, you can go anywhere in the country and still be in touch with everyone back home. I don't have any stats, but I'd bet that recruits (nationwide) are more likely to leave their home state than ever before.

I think getting to the NFL matters just as much (if not more) to a lot of these guys than a championship. Nobody seems to put players in the NFL like the SEC.

Did CJ ever say the good news was about recruiting? I mean, there are lots of things that would make hokienation happy, not all of which are related to recruiting.

That being said, a boost in recruiting would be nice...

#IwasatVTbefore the Commonwealth Cup

#IwasatVTbefore any of the Fuller brothers

#IwasatVTbefore our rivaly with WVa ended

cj reavis would not be fired up about a 2013 recruit qualifying,,, thats expected. With that said... nnadi is gunna commit soon

Jones had the injury bug something awful. I thought the same was true of Suggs though less publicized, but I could be off there.

they say its alabama vs virginia

Yeah but 247 just started the predictions on Andrew, mainly because we lost DC5 & JP10, so they assume we are going after Ford. I think he doesn't even have an offer yet.

Still remember the Scrod dinners at Shultz DH, oh the joy of greasy fish...

Can I preorder my "Decade of Dominance" shirts. 3 larges for me, the wife and the teenager, 4 smalls for the gradeschoolers and the preschooler (she can wear it like a nightshirt). Once we take the photo with the whole fam in the shirts, it will be my new profile pic.

You don't just post something like that and then give up after 30 minutes. You gotta think... you got a pet. You got a responsibility. You get off your ass and you find that fucking recruit!

It's Andrew Ford. *Edit: This is a wild ass guess based solely on him camping with us and JC
Schurburt having us at 100% to get him.

So I don't know who the player is, but I've heard from a reliable source that someone has committed and he will make people VERY happy

This hurts, but isn't that surprising. After all we knew he was waiting on a "committable" offer from them. At least he did Loefler a solid and took a visit.

Hand and Park really hurts. We were perceived as being their front runners and now we're not even in the race. A lot of people were saying the longer they waited, the better for us. ...Um, not so much. I say get the commitment early.

Also think we were playing a little too much with these situations. If we don't get Cornwell, we'll take Park. If we don't get Hand, we'll take Brown (or Nnadi). I'm afraid we're playing musical chairs and we're getting left without a seat.

Will be surprised if we get Ford. We've had very little interest until we struck out on our top 2. Now suddenly he's the prettiest girl left in the bar.

I've always seen this as a double edged sword...our location isn't the most appealing to most recruits so it hurts us but at the same time the guys that do come really want to be there to play ball. They aren't there for the beach or the clubs or the bright lights. Look at all the talent some of these schools (Tennessee, Miami etc) bring in that doesn't always translate to wins. There are other factors of course and we'll struggle to bring in elite talent until we consistently win big games but I think it's just a matter of time
