Were they recruiting him as a de? I heard he wanted to play te and we don't really need anymore de's if hand and mihota come into the fold
Also continues the trend of VT being in it with top state talent and then not so much. 2014 is not turning out to be nearly as strong as we anticipated on the recruiting trail, in my opinion.
I love everything about the kid, but given his size and wingspan, he is a center, not a guard. No chance he plays guard in Grimes system. He seems to have excellent upper body strength and pad level.
BUT, his feet die at contact and then recover. Major red flag for me. The difference between servicable and good at the DI level is footwork. Can you continue to drive your feet and legs through contact? Given that he does not, I am stunned that he is getting a scholarship offer (even though long term the center position does not have much depth.) I'd rather see him come in as a prefered walk on.
I am not happy about this, but the depth at DE makes it a tougher sell. This could also mean that the buzz is Hand will be a Hokie.
Malleck is ready to breakout!
I disagree, I firmly belive our defense kept us in that game and gave us plenty of chances to take a big lead and not give it up. Our did break on some long pass plays thanks to Kam Chancellor always being out of position, but for the most part our D played their asses off. Lets not forget how long they were on the field with our offense going three and out many times that game. When we beat bama in August it will be because of our D.
Dagnabbit!
Word is the Frankinator donated $5,000.00 in tickets so the Hokie faithful could show up in force this weekend.
Me too. I drove all the way in from Chicago to watch us lay an egg against Clemson, was offered a ticket to the Miami game, and turned them down because it would have been such a long trip to make twice in a row. Still kicking myself for that.
Did the same on my NES in my dorm room too, sit down and play it through. Still do, every couple months, in fact. And I also got my hands on a NES emulator where you can control the speed of the emulation, and I beat it at super speed, all the way up to 4x (but only with tons of practice and timing).
Longest play time in my Steam list is the original Mass Effect at 145 hours, but I'm sure I have more than doubled that with SMB3.
As an aside, I am disappointed with my generation. In 2006, I went to a residential summer program called the "Governor's School for Math, Science and Technology" for high school juniors and seniors all across Virginia (essentially Nerd Camp). One day, there was an NES in the lounge with SMB/Duck Hunt. I picked up a controller and started playing, and the crowd that accumulated was amazed by all the "secrets" I knew about, like the hidden 1-UP early in the 1st level and the warps in worlds 1-2 and 4-2.
That explains his name.
We got this!
Yeah. I elected to go to the Clemson game the week before. FML.
i was in north endzone for that game. ill never forget it that was the loudest enter sandman by the time we stopped jumping around me and friends were two sections over from when we were originally standing
does anybody know if the different colors mean anything or if it's just to help differentiate between the lines?
This circulated probably a couple days after the game. Pretty crazy stuff. I know in the north endzone we leaned on each other a couple times from how much the bleachers were shaking.
I think someone used game genie to adjust the momentum right there...
World Series Baseball 2k1 on Dreamcast was TERRIBLE, but I sunk a crazy amount of time into that game. You couldn't even control the fielders!!!
Ole Miss hasn't offered yet.
I will be visiting my father's alma matter ole miss this weekend— Billy Ray Mitchell (@Billythekid_75) May 29, 2013
I'm VERY happy with this pickup. This guy stays low, locates a defender, and quite simply removes him from the path of the ballcarrier. Looks like we might have ourselves a pretty good one here before all is said and done.
That's more of a Kentucky thing... mostly...

# | Bitter blog - Would Virginia Tech want to play West Virginia in football again? My uncle is a WVU grad and at one point I did apply to go there (even though I was still a Hokie at heart)they had a program in Forensics I was interested in (which VT does not have sadly). My Uncle made me SWEAR to him that I would NEVER EVER go to Morgantown for any games ever. He said they are not a place for a young woman to be. I couldn't agree more. And I will never go even if we do play them again in the future (Hope not!). And adding the sale of beer in their stadium is just absolutely insane!! I mean really? We may as well give them free couches to burn in the stadium as well. Oh and maybe some batteries or rocks to throw at the other teams. But seriously...my bro in law is a huge WVU and he's awesome. So I try not to hold it again him too much. But MOST of their fans are just horrible. And Its pretty bad when the head coach has to ASK the fans not to wear those West "Effing" Virginia shirts. How tasteless and disrespectful to your team. Smh....

# | Bitter blog - Would Virginia Tech want to play West Virginia in football again? I halfway expected the WVU student's initial response to you to be, "Yeah, and so did I."
I am from WV originally. These are my people and I speak their language. I grew up as a WVU fan by virtue of most of my family having gone there, but I also knew I was going to Tech since the age of five or so. The reputation of the bad apples at WVU is well deserved. It's not every WVU fan, but it is a very vocal portion. The last game that I attended was our 2005 game where Marcus sent em to the exits early in the 4th quarter. The crowd was rough on the way in. No physical abuse but lots of verbal threats and things that you generally wouldn't say to someone with your children in the room. That was the first time I can recall that armed state troopers were posted to the tops of concession stands in a stadium. And this was a day game.
I do have the advantage of a) being a fairly big guy and b) actually knowing some of these clowns, or more correctly their older siblings from when I attended HS in WV. Best exchange of the day:
WVU student: Tech sucks, eff you guys,
Me: Dude, I used to bang your sister.
WVU student: shut the eff up.
Me: No, seriously, tell Jenny I said hello.
WVU student: *confused*
But that was a long time ago. The advent of beer sales in the stadium is a horrendous idea. Several of my good friends are WVU alums including some who hold box seats, even they don't like what the availability of beer has done to the already rowdy crowds. That will end poorly at some point. I haven't been to a more hostile place as a visiting fan (pretty much the inverse of say Nebraska or Wake Forest) and even as a native I wouldn't go to a WVU game at night in Morgantown now.

I remember the week leading up to the Clemson game that year that I was pissed my mom, brother, nephew and I had tickets to the Miami game. After the loss and having tweaked the lower muscles in my back at the gym I was like do i really want to drive 5 hours to see a possible loss to Miami? (We get one set of free tickets for one game each year from my mom's boss who's dad is an alum.) And still steaming inside that Glennon forced Tyrods redshirt to be burned and wondering if LT3 could play QB efficiently. I said fuck it its my Birthday we are playing Miami and I only get to go to Blacksburg once a year. After we get to BBurg walking to Lane I was considering and had been all week whether I wanted to buy an LT3 Maroon Jersey or not and my back was hurting a little bit every step i took. Once we got to the stadium i made the final decision to buy Logan's Jersey and the rest as they say is history. In the video at the 1:38 mark if you look closely enough a few sections above the Miami bench you can see me throwing my back out lol not really, the adrenaline was flowing through me so much that I didn't even feel it happen but the walk back to the car was excruciating. This event forced me to miss a week of work with a ton of back pain but it was 150% worth every second of it and I'm very happy to say i was apart if it.
