I am also very concerned that JC is so light. I recall hearing that he was told by coaches he needed to be "heavier to play for VT", then he gained weight. I guess he lost it again. Doesn't he know Taco Bell has cool ranch taco shells now?!

TEAM GOATEE!!!!! #BEATBAMA

Nick Marshman was "The Man", so he failed bug in a cup and couldnt play in the Orange bowl. He was still a beast on the O-line. Especially at recovering fumbles after the whistle blew.

we NEED it so bad. About once a week, I imagine what it will be like when we finally win it all and just the thought of it almost brings me tears.

It also helps that he's the winningest active FBS Coach. We need to win that Crystal Ball before the Frankinator is gone.

Here's a promising note, courtesy of Bitter, re: Loeffler....he's catching up with Grimes & Foster

"He’s hit the road recruiting, watched hours of game film from last year, had his appendix removed and grown a goatee."

I think we've seen our share of locker room poison (D. Hall, M. Davis), so I hope we can get some leadership out of the upperclassmen.

I actually agree with you, I just think Eddie would be more effective coming off the bench when there's no pressure on him to lead the team in points.

Not sure where you're getting the Big 10/12 schools for Clark. The only power conference schools ESPN has offers listed for him are from Auburn, Georgia, Providence and Tennessee. Not really the powerhouse programs you would expect to go after a borderline top 100 recruit. Rivals says he got offers from (in addition to the others) Ole Miss, Missouri, Miami and OK State. That's 0 Big 10 schools and 1 Big 12 school. Not really the cream of the crop as far as basketball schools go.

People were very high on Clarke until they saw him play this season and interest seems to have waned because of concerns about his ability to fill a role as a 1 or 2 guard (from what I've read on Rivals and ESPN, he doesn't shoot well enough to be a 2 guard but he doesn't pass well enough to be a 1). He actually may fit more of the slasher type role that Robert Brown is leaving open with his departure.

Emelogu is in a similar situation to Clarke, people saw how raw he was and backed off. Same goes for Thompson. Kirby is just a tall guy who got a lot of exposure from playing on the same team as a top point guard recruit. All the guys we signed are, as I said, guys who JJ feels fit his system and he knew he could sign with the promise of playing time in a power conference.

You make good points, but if you don't mind me suggesting, maybe just use one question mark at a time moving forward.

Interviews like this make me think of something: How were guys like Marcus Davis not universally hated by the rest of the players? All of them, especially guys like Tone, Logan and JC, seem especially committed to winning and putting 100% in. Guys like MD7 were essentially dead space on the field, harming our efforts to win games. They see that too, so how did it not spill over more? I understand most of them are friends, but at some point it goes beyond friendship.

I've been saying this since my freshman year. No way do I want to drive to the Civic Center for some hockey.

You can say you learned all you want, but you actually have to show it. I was always rooting for him to become that guy but he really isn't. He is more like a typical college student who just happens to play basketball.

Haha well when I look outside on March 27th and see the ground is covered in snow... Florida sounds pretty nice

He belongs on the d-line... But if he would prove to be the best blindside Tackle or Guard VT has ever seen, all would be forgiven.

Also why do we have so many defensive ends?! This list doesn't even include Wyatt Teller, and we are in line to recruit at least 3 more studs next year.

Conte may fit that Grimes long-lean-mobile-nasty version at OG better than any of our other guards. Play Conte at guard, Shuman and Gibson at OT. Gets your five best out there, and you don't have to play Wang/Farris/Arkema at OG.

or maybe Acree is ready...but that's a big hope. Dude has been a lost cause for years now, it's asking a lot for him to be ready as he comes off a major injury.
