I think we owe Mike Gentry a huge deal of credit for our program's success over the years. His strength and conditioning program is a big part of how we turn 3-star players into all-stars.
Super Iron Hokies!

I already told yall to check Kayak. I see a lot of places not too far away

Priceline only has one hotel anywhere close to stumbling distance, and it's the $550/night Ritz Carlton...
I think I'll stay 20 mins north at the Holiday Inn Express for $62 instead
i've felt for awhile that the whole conference realignment thing is like game of thrones. you got power, money, and influence being won and lost through deception and intrigue. you got uneasy alliances, ancient rivalries and hatred, backstabbing, incest and fratricide. i can just see a map of the usa with the headquarter cities of the conferences spinning up and building themselves.
i'd say the sec are the lannisters. they got all the money, all the power, and all the influence. mike slive is just as ruthless and good at what he does as tywin.
notre dame could be the targaryens. they once ruled the kingdom but are now fraction of what they once were but still scream at the top of their lungs (a la the khaleesi) about how they're the rightful and true rulers of the land. they just cant figure out how to take it back.
the b1g could be the starks. ancient, proud rulers of the north whose house has lost some of its luster in the recent past. like robb stark, jim delaney embarks on a risky campaign beyond the borders of what is historically their territory.
as for the acc, i couldnt really think of one beside maybe the baratheons. the acc is really good at some stuff it takes to be a major house, but not so good at the most important one. the baratheons were great at conquering and defending their kingdom, but suck at actually ruling and administering a kingdom. the acc is great at basketball and the non-revs, but not so good at the one sport you need to be good at to rule the kingdom: football. like the baratheons, this could eventually lead to the ruin of the house.
sorry, i got game of thrones on the mind, it's a snow day and i've been reading a dance with dragons all morning.
Sounds like we are gonna have tough son of guns lining up this spring. Legitimately excited!
According to hokiesports, DerWoune Greene has been moved to wide receiver. Maybe the coaches are confident in the guys they have back there already. We're going to have 4 star talent depth at that position for the next couple of years.
Or for the broke people on the site we can meet for a tailgate??
Hahaha I thought that may be a questionable comment. I hope Antone has fast recovery, and can make an impact. While I'm at it though;
Logan Thomas - Rick
James Gayle - Daryl
Demitri Knowles - Glen
Kyle Fuller - Michonne
Kendall Fuller - Carl

It is pretty absured that Brian Rody bench pressed 360 pounds. He's 6'6", and its typically harder for lanky guys to lift that much weight because of the longer arms - - they have a much farther way to go. For a 5th-string QB, way to put in work.
Glad to see the low-box squat highs get represented by all 1st-team offensive and defensive linemen.
You pointed out Augie, but Laurence Gibson was only 5 pounds behind him on the power clean, and Laurence also squatted 550 lbs, the 5th best on the team. Hopefully some of this athleticism can turn into some legitimate OT depth. With that, I was disapointed to not see Mark Schuman on any of these lists.
I agree that it is huge that DJ Coles appears to be healthy. Let's get him back up to playing speed and audition him for the NFL.
Now he'll shoot up to a 5 star!
Coleman at 400 lbs! That's pretty incredible
was thinking that DJ squatting over 400 means that his legs/knees are good to go and he'll confident they're healthy....he will be a key player this season
"...to see if he can make a push for a starting job."

also glad to see DJ coles putting up decent numbers. Would love to see him back to form and bringing some physicality to the WR core. Surprised at how much Coleman put up as well for being a much smaller guy.
That means you'll just have to spend more money for booze post-game. New idea: decide on a bar now, and all of us take over the place after the game.

that just means he's the shit!

Does this mean Antone is Hershel?... Too soon?
(I think both are awesome)
Blaming Sherman because you're lazy is a punk move. Let's see Coale and Boykin leave and you guys "kept pushing each other". REALLY! Let's watch your tape for this year (or just F$U would do the trick) and see how much you "pushed yourself" or someone else pushed you. I'm sorry but you have talent...you just have no heart. Sherman is gone...don't blame him. He did plenty while here (look at who he put in the League), I admit he had his faults (one of which was leaving your sorry ass in the lineup as long as he did)...with your attitude, and comments like this, I now hope you're not one of them.
BTW-Fuller did a pretty good job being coached by him...how do you explain that? Oh, yeah...he listens and works hard. Something you know nothing about...
heard from virginiatechfan.com that bama offered vincent mihota today...getting real freakin tired of them tryin to poach our guys heres hoping he stays strongly committed to us
To your last point (6) there were a couple years in the middle of the 00's that we didn’t have a consistent running game. Humes and Imoh were good but they certainly had their off nights too. But to the good, there was uncertainty going into 08 after Ore left, we had Kenny Lewis and Darren Evans, neither of which had a lot of experience. Thankfully, Darren set the freshman rushing record. Then in 09 Darren hurts his knee and again, we're set to face Bama with an unproven back and Ryan Williams had a nice game against Bama and flashed his talent on that nice long d run in the 2nd half. My only worry WRT rb is how Shane seemed to over sub last year. We're going to have some highly touted kids this year especially if Harris can get cleared this summer. Shane needs to settle on a clear 1 and 2. If its Edmunds and Harris I can see getting Coleman on the field as well, but not constantly running 3 or 4 different backs in there during the game.

brianm11, figured you might want to read up more about your former uva enemy. The more you know...

...there's so many walk-ons in the top5 of these strength tests.
