So help the poor fool that lets D-Hop get leverage on him. That squat number makes me very, very happy.

Because they were workout warriors..... because they didn't dress for games...

Out of context, this comment is hilarious.

Can you imagine a race going on with the football game in the middle? It'd be like the Grail for rednecks.

and that was the consensus "best start" time that the ticket holders chose. yeah, it's an awkward time and yeah it does suck but that is what the fans wanted... unlike the no thursday night game decision, to thank the fans, at his own discretion.

We'd like to have money for liquor, so we just went with one of the Mariott places up in Buckhead.

Coleman squatting 400 is great. Not as good as David Wilson squatting 600, but still good for a rising sophomore.

Another one that sticks out is D-Hop. Box squatted 650 which is 95 lbs higher than the second defensive lineman, Maddy.

Gentry makes scrawny little kids with some work ethic into MONSTERS!

Agree, and I think the coaches know it too. I don't think I've ever been to a speaking event (whether it's Cav or Foster) where they haven't thanked Gentry for all of his hard work and called him the best strength coach in the country. The Frankinator is quick to give props too.

Frank beat Saban when Saban coached LSU. And beat a weak Bama team before Saban took over.

But, you are absolutely right, if there was ever a chance to take advantage of roster turnover this August, this game would be it.

But, some of them have gone on to become stars.

Thanks for the history lesson. I'll admit I didn't pay much attention to the off season back then as I do now.

One issue I had with Shane is his substitution of running back who was getting really hot. I can't recall what game it was (Boston College?) where Martin Scales got going, diesel-engine hot, and Shane put in a very cold Michael Holmes for a predictable loss.

That's why I am hoping Shane will listen to Grimes. You do make a great point, Shane needs to establish a #1 and #2 backs, but we shouldn't count on Harris enrolling this summer as precaution measure. I have not heard anything official on Harris, but I think the coaches just need to go about as if he won't make it. There's talents in the backfield right now.

I really thought this was going to be a post about snow...

That's actually not a bad idea. We could probably get a pretty big tailgate going with everyone on this site that will be going to the game.

Many of the walk-ons don't dress for games, so they just lift all the time. Walk-ons often become workout warriors.

I may be in the minority, but anything over a mile or so isn't really good stumbling distance.

That said, looking at 1.1 miles, that reduces it to $210/night.

And that "Savannah Suites", I guess if you're just looking for a bed and that's it, then ok, 1.4 miles away for $64, but half the reviews are "terrible", and apparently it is in a somewhat unsavory location.

Thanks, but I still think I'll stick to the "North Perimeter" area, the hotel is right next to a metro rail station, should work out pretty well.

The owner of Bristol Motor Speedway wanted to have an event called "The Battle of Bristol" where The middle of the track would be turned into a football field and feature the Bristol rivalry of Tennessee and Virginia Tech. Both schools were offered a great sum but Tennessee wouldn't accept (too scared).

It would have been pretty fantastic since I live 10 minutes from the track.

Oh well, the 2009 Chick-Fil-A bowl made up for that ;)
