True, that was in the back of my head. I just think these guys (VT's) are teachers, coaches and have recruiting prowess. Much of the Groh staff just seemed young for young's sake with no real track record of player development. I think UVa will be better coached going forward, and then we'll see if they can connect with 17-18 year-olds on the recruiting trail.

Don't think it has to do with the evolution of the quarterback position itself, but more the evolution of the athlete in general. Where Michael Vick was able to survive with his inaccurate arm in the NFL because of his incredible elusiveness, the previously mentioned quarterbacks are now actual quarterbacks in the true sense but with incredible athletic ability.
I think you can make the similar comparison to most sports, especially basketball. Used to be that if you were 6'8", that you were destined to be a center until the evolution of the athlete made for a bunch of 6'8" kids who could dribble and shoot just as good as the shorter kids.
I'd love for him to get any chance too. The problem is, if his chance is with a crappy team (Arizona) with a terrible o-line, his odds of success will be slim. I mean, even someone as escapable as Tyrod would get killed back there...
I think Kansas City would be a better landing spot (just IMO). They were 32nd in the league in passing yards last year, but had a decent team aside from that. I definitely think he could beat out Matt Cassel in a fair competition (but what do I know?)
Don't forget about Steve Young and Randall Cunningham. The Stormin' Mormon and the Rocket Man were at well before Vick.

I would love for Tyrod to get traded to Arizona to reconnect with Ryan Williams. Also, former VT QB Bruce Arians is the new head coach which could help out. Only problem is the amount of money Arizona has tied up in Kevin Kolb.
Not really sure why those clips at the end of hi on defense are there. To be honest, he doesn't exactly look like a great linebacker or anything. Stick to running back, kid. That's what you're good at.
There's definitely some man-against-boys action goin on, but still, God help the corner not named Exum who tries to come up and hit this guy. I'd really like to see a 40 time on him, just cause it's so hard to tell if he has deceptive speed or if the guys chasing him are just slow.
And you've just got to tip your cap to Larkin on that play. He hit a (somewhat) contested 24/25 footer on the biggest possession of the game. I'm sure JJ was content to give him that shot.

Its going to take awhile to adjust to ACC basketball. I think we are overreacting and thinking he was highly touted. The guy was recruited last minute as a project. The fact that he gets as many minutes as he does now says something about his progression in my opinion. I mean, he is better than Robert Krabenndam already.

USC never took any VA recruits after beating VT and then UVA twice, I guess we'll see.
I think Oregon will still be pretty good without Kelly, at least next year, their QB is very good and they have returning starters, their new coach is familar with the team like Kelly was when he was promoted from OC a few years ago.
It will be fun to watch UVA lose this one, the stadium will be empty at half time when Oregon is up 35 zero

That was 8 minutes of him beasting on 1 or more players, then outrunning guys with the angle. Not sure how much of that is the result of a man against boys, but I hope we get him.
