I was in kindergarten. I didn't even watch football them. The first season I really started watching Hokie sports was the 2004-05 season and we have never lost to UVA. Guess I'm blessed. To be honest, I hate WVU way more than I hate UVA, but then again, I live in WV.
DirecTV isn't showing the game on any of my local channels, so I'll have to set up on ESPN3 again, which was absolutely terrible for the Miami game. Hoping the Hokies help me bare through the terrible broadcasting of ESPN3 and make a good game of it!
He would have been drafted 2 rounds earlier in my opinion. He was just as good if not better than Russell Wilson, so I see no reason to think that he would have been drafted much later than Wilson. Any quarterback drafted in that area will at least be given an opportunity to win a starting job (Jets anyone?).
That Movie was none stop funny.
but then I realized it made me too horrible of a person. Now, if he actually does go down, then obviously I'll cheer Tyrod on as loudly as the rest of you.
It would be cool though, seeing him win a Super Bowl, considering I've seen him win ACCCG's and a VHSL title game, why not the next level too.
Tyrod being trade bait himself this off-season. As you mentioned with the popularity of the read-option, I wouldn't be surprised if someone didn't grab him. Also, with Flacco demanding so much money (rumored), he might just find himself a starting opportunity next year. Maybe brother John can ask brother Jim about how to run the RO?
I think there would have been more interest because the past two years have really showed what a mobile qb can do. It's a copycat league. Like you said, I don't think he would have went too much higher, but I definitely think he would have went higher.
And this reminded me of something I've been meaning to write/post up here.
I was thinking the Skins would have a mild interest. They could use Cousins as trade bait for more draft picks and try to grab someone similar to Tyrod's abilities in a later round for when RG3 goes down twice a year.
Regardless there will definatly be an interest in the NFL for these types of players in the future, and i think that would have impacted his draft status for the better
He still gets his ring, he still gets credit for "winning a Super Bowl as the starting QB", and, well, he got the team this far, so that should count for something.
But yeah, not being the guy leading the team for the majority of the game, that would kind of suck. As would the awkward moments next year if he struggles a little bit, since there's already a guy who won a Super Bowl right behind him (assuming he doesn't get traded, which is another possibility, PLEASE someone take him from Baltimore...)
Sean Glennon hadn't graduated high school yet
Marcus Vick hadn't gone to jail yet
...
Aldon Smith, Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, etc. need to decleat Flacco for Tyrod to get a shot.
Would love Flacco to go down and Tyrod to enter
for Flacco.
Even when the hoos lose, it hurts us. Gotta hate em.
Screw that...Flacco goes down with a minor injury on the 1st play from scrimmage, a la Tyrod vs. FSU in 2008. Tyrod leads the Ravens to victory...now THAT'd be awesome!
that's the last thing we need. it's bad enough competing against the entire sec, b1g, acc, some big xii, and fucking stanford plucking kids in va. the ducks come a knockin and 5 stars will answer.
The answer is hell no, unless Flacco gets hurt.
1. As you said, a huge Ravens blowout. Odds: virtually impossible. SF defense is pretty solid. And remember last year, SF beat the Ravens, so likely a fairly close game.
2. A huge 49rs blowout. Odds: more likely than #1, but I don't see this happening either.
3. An injury to Flacco. Odds: probably better than #1 or #2, but Flacco is something of an iron man, and if he can crawl onto the field, you know he's gonna be there. I mean, it IS the Super Bowl.
doubt it. It really pains me to say it, because I do love me some Tyrod, but I can't see Flacco being taken off the field under any circumstances, unless Harbaugh 1 really thinks he could shock Harbaugh 2 with some read-option or something...
I'm definitely not clicking that link. There isn't enough security software in the world for me to feel safe wading into the underbelly of sports sites. I have no doubts that my computer would attempt to self destruct rather than see the phrase #newhoos used in a non-joking manner.
something to watch.
It will be interesting to see how this impacts recruiting. Teams tend to recruit better where they play their games, and Oregon is one of a select few schools that can recruit nationally. If you see anybody commit to Oregon in the next few years from VA, then you can point to this moment as the catalyst.
I'm not worried about UVA stealing our recruits, I'm worried about them helping the elite programs to steal our recruits.
Jonathan Lewis. If it is, odd to see him in hoo gear... if I'm mistaken, apologies.

For whatever reason, I have a good feeling about this game. Usually we play up to our competition, and JJ will definitely be able to scheme his mentor tough. I think it will be a close loss, our lack of depth will show late in the second half either from fatigue or foul trouble.
