...you would think we could go all Stanford on it and do okay. I bet Beamer wouldn't mind that....

That's one of the reasons I'm somewhat hopeful for Fridge. He liked to run it between the tackles, with a bunch of creative PA off that run.

And I think we'd see even more impact if we brought in more young blood. Recruiting has got to be SUCH an enormous pain in the ass and I'd imagine its exhausting. Our coaching staff is pretty damn old.

This is my point, how come byu and presyberian college can stop them but Foster cant? This is why we dont win the national title, because we dont adapt, foster does most of the time but he cant figure GTs offense, come on man, we are better than that and we need to start on the track to fixing this and and our offense or else we will always be middle of the pack and just on the outside of national greatness looking in.

and by 2016, I believe the hope may be that Shane could be ready as well. And don't count out Torian Gray.

Shane could go to Ga State this year as HC.

with you DE, consistency breeds the opportunity for winning a title. We have a number of ACC/BE titles and with one or two breaks, that results in a bid to the National Championship, especially with the expanded format beginning in 2014. I really expect that eventually we will see a larger playoff similar to what the FCS has b/c the financials are just too overwhelming to ignore. Once ESPN sees how much the 2 semi-final games pay them, the temptation to have 4 more in a quarter-final round will be like low-hanging fruit.

If VT maintains a program that consistently wins 8 or more games each year, keeps going to bowl games (and wins more of them please) and keeps winning the recruiting wars in VA, we will get to the NC playoffs once or twice a decade at least. Catch a few breaks, and we will fill that empty trophy case. It all starts with having a winning tradition and a consistently excellent program that has its ups and downs, but never gives up the desire for excellence.

UVA for BC and Louisville for Pitt, then you'll have it correct. UVA for BC is obvious IMO, Louiville is nuts for b'ball with football being a recent hobby. Same for Pitt, that town is all football all the time.

has some issues at VT in his past. He is a great DC and would likely be a great HC somewhere. He has a sweet deal financially at VT though, and being the 2nd biggest fish in the pond ain't bad. Hope we keep him, he has some financial incentives to stick around I think. Regardless, French is right, likely never going to be our HC. Ask off-line if you just have to know more please.

But I'm not anticipating any changes. And if there are changes, I doubt I'll like them.

Bringing in Shane and Brown was a 'shake up' and I'm not really sure what that's done for us so far.

money talks but you're right about auburn .. other than money -- it's a total shit job

regarding an earlier comment -- the louisville decision had plenty to do with football ... it just so happens that they have a good b-ball program too. if the acc had voted to take uconn, it would make a very possible scenario of fsu/clemson leaving to even more likely. uconn brings very little to the table and the acc should take cincinnati before uconn

so I'll probably miss them all this week

1. Flashes

I believe he will be able to too. I live in VB so I went to a couple of his games this season and he's definitely a good athlete. He seems to be more agile than Logan too. If his athleticism is the issue French has, I don't see why. He'll def have to develop into a better passer but that's expected.

Great references here...haven't watched wrestling since WWE swallowed up most of the competetion.

Would like to see how the ACC relates to ECW!

After what Auburn did to Chizik and more notably, Tuberville, I would hope Strong would have more self-respect then to take a job with such an irrational booster base. Auburn boosters EXPECT a SEC title in 2 years, a national title in 3, and to beat a NFL-level bama team in all years. None of that is realistically possible right now, and I think Strong, and most coaches that distinguish foot from ass, will realize that and will stay away.

As most predicted, Charlie Strong will probably be leaving Louisville soon. According to ESPN, he interviewed for the Auburn job, even though he's denying it (but don't they all). Even if he doesn't get or take that job, it definitely seems he's gone sooner than later. That Louisville troller got mad that we called them a stepping stone program. Wonder how he feels now.
