As a long time Hokie fan, every game this year is a must win. The big games are a must win, whatever bowl, hopefully national title game, is a must win. I dont think we can afford to lose any game this season. Tech needs to run the table and show the rest of the country we can hang w the big dogs. My hopes is we play a big 12 team for the national title. I would love for it to be a sec team but that would further provide evidence to the sterotype of the sec being untouchable. Fuck the sec

at least GT on Monday night shouldn't interfere with Jimmy Buffett's annual Labor Day weekend concert at Nissan (not announced yet, but its been that weekend for the last several years).

Definitely a tough schedule though. At Klemson, at da U, and vs. FSU could be brutal. Hopefully we will be mostly injury-free going in to those games. Ending the regular season with a win over uva is always nice too.

Like every year, I see no reason why we can't go undefeated and beat the noles for the acc title on our way to beating LSU for the national title to set up a huge game with Alabama to open the 2013 season...or, i might just be a little ahead of myself

Most winnable to least:
Austin Peay
Bowling Green
Duke
@BC
@Pitt
UVA
Cincy (DC)
GT
@Miami
@UNC (coming off DC trip, 2nd consecutive road game)
Florida State
@Clemson

I see 8 wins there without much further thought. The other 4 could be dicey. I like our chances of getting 2/4. Maybe even 3/4. FSU, Miami, and Clemson all get open weeks to prep for us. UNC gets a tune up v. Idaho.

How will the helmet rule work? Will the team be penalized if the player continues to play after the helmet being knocked off? Going to be some contraversy there...

Those comments about the pass catching and route running really grind my gears.

I really wish we utilized him more out of the backfield.

I really think Danny has the best chance to make the first transition into the NFL. As shown, Wilson is a freakish athlete with a boat load of potential. I hope he dazzles everyone in the NFL. I hope i'm wrong and he ends up carrying the rock for some team in need next fall. Nonetheless, Danny just further proved to everyone else what we already knew. He has good speed, size, and intelligence. In today's game there is a lot less airing it out to the biggest guy on the field as elite QB's spread the ball around a lot more. If you were listening in yesterday the commentators spoke to this. Wide Outs are being used more and more in packages based on their strengths. Sure, the Megatrons and Fitzgeralds will continue to shine as dominant "go to" guys. However, when going 70, 80, 90 yards downfield the possession type guys are needed for shorter yardage situations to move the chains. Looking at his tape I'm sure many scouts will see how WIDE OPEN Coale got on a consistent basis. I'm really excited to see how all of our guys develop and hope they get their moment in the sun. What I see in Danny though is less of a "sleeper" and more of a testament to Tech's unheralded success in finding and developing talent.

conceded, but he WAS the only QB in this year's combine that wasn't competing that I heard mentioned. I think it festers into more, and is something we'll have to deal with all year even though I do agree with y'all.

Their hype was 10x greater than LT3's. They all stayed for another year, despite projected top 5 pick. Besides that fact, LT3 is playing in an offense replacing 7 starters. Don't be surprised if he doesn't have a spectacular year, maybe even regress a little from last year. Furthermore, he'll likely be overshadowed by Barkley, Manuel, Aaron Murray, and possibly Boyd. It also doesn't hurt that not many starters will be lost next year (2 WRs, 1-2 linemen), and thus makes it more likely for LT3 to return as well. I think it's very premature to say LT3 will leave early, but we'll see.

I think being a 4.4 guy is huge for Coale. It's going to stir up more of a buzz for Danny among GMs and front office folk, and it gives his agent another chip to toss around while promoting him. By my eyes I knew he was fast, but I didn't think he'd run a 4.4 flat. Although he did test at 4.39 back in 2010, but that's on a Tech watch. Just as important as his speed, he caught every ball that came his way and ran crisp routes. He had an extremely impressive morning and definitely moved up team's draft boards.

Unofficial but watching the combine I personally did not expect this from a small receiver like Coale. I think being a sleeper is putting is short changing him. I understand the NFL wants big guys like TO but it is the Wes Welkers that put up big numbers and Danny Coale is this years Wes Welker. Thoughts?
