I expect much of the same as we saw against Cuse and UNC. The crowd will be amped, the team will come out amped, play with intensity on the defensive end, and maybe even hit some shots early. Then we'll wear down, Coach K will make his adjustments, Duke will go on a run and pull away in the second half.
As far as the freshman, does DoDo come out of the slump? Hope so, prolly not. The rest have shown more flashes cept maybe Barksdale, seems to me he's just getting abused out there.
Am I supporting this team? Does the Pope wear a funny hat?
Duke 72 VT 60
hope I'm wrong
I want to know yours or anyone's thoughts on some of the guys we gnabbed that may seem a little more under the radar. It may be a stretch but even disregarding Alston Smith's pedigree he seems to be a big boy with some natural athleticism. If he's half of what his dad was I'd be excited.
I wont go into detail about the guys I think are more "diamonds in the rough" but I'd like to see if anyone else agrees. My personal list of who to watch contains: Joshua Stanford, Donaldven Manning, Augie Conte, Abbott, Der'Weon Green, Dakota Jackson and Adam Taraschke.
Loved the Sandman intro.
Don't forget. Michael Vick redshirted. If you are not getting a load of NFL caliber recruits (ala Alabama) you need to develop (redshirt) some guys in order to have enough depth. Some guys might need development to play at a high level in college (they are not quite ready). The 4 or 5 stars almost always get to play early because they are good enough. I ask, as a DL if Nick Saban offered you a redshirt at Alabama versus you starting at VT, most guys would still pick bama.
Had to get there before him to set up. This signing day stuff is getting out of hand.
Yesterday of Al Golden entering the office on signing day. They made clear to show that he got in before anyone else flippin the office switch at a time stamped 5:17 am. Then the best part came as they showed about 6 clips of him talking to recruits after sending in their LOI. I saw less of a coach and more of a fraternity recruitment chair. I had no idea it was cool for a 40 year old dude to say "welcome BRO, ready to get it done" over and over and over.
It's what I want too!
Love this, love it, love it.
I guess Charley Wiles has too much rope for being able to try and talk/shame some sense into the kid without checking in with Beamer, according to Golden.

What was the original context?
I'm not sure his quote makes any sense in this context...way to go, Goldey
ha ha...that is classic
Baller....
He was such a f'ing stud. If any of these prospects can perform at HALF the level Moore did, we'll be in good hands.
i think frank has learned his lesson (hopefully!!) with redshirting top talent. he knows that you only have a short time with these guys...i don't think he'll redshirt caleb. especially since we have alot of questions going into 2013 at the wr spot..
That is friggin epic.
So Logan'll have to truck his ass next year
Gotta think Drew Harris has a solid shot. I know Holmes and Coleman are already in the program but nobody's handled a snap in a game yet. A lot of RBs on the roster come fall, should be some good competition.
Seems like the depth at receiver this fall may keep Caleb in a redshirt. The top 3 are set-Davis, Coles, Dyrel, and Demitri Knowles has made a quite an impression during his redshirt year. If Caleb can challeng him or Fuller, who aint shown much so far, then maybe he'll play.
I think Jones, Ekanem, and Baron (along with Corey Marshall) can all be studs at defensive end. Jones isn't as impressive physically as Ekanem, but he defintely has a motor. Baron's motor is ridiculous. He was a 20 sack a year guy, and the teams Brentwood Academy usually plays are well coached and have good athletes. He dusted everyone.
The biggest question I have with this group of defensive linemen is simple. Who steps up as an edge rusher who can get to the QB without bringing the backer? Gayle is ok, but he isn't disruptive every drop back. Wilson doesn't get the edge. McCray looks like more of a strongside end. Who gets the QB?
I WANT THIS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAwkgSUabQQ
about Jarontay Jones I know he played on a very talented HS team with 7 or 8 D-1 kids but watching his film he was one that I thought didn't need an arrow to find on the field and seemed to have that motor and finishes every tackle
The saddest part of that whole twitter timeline was that Ja Wand Blue didn't know how to use a fax machine #HarvardOfTheSouth
I'm content. Now I really hope all of this translates to more on field success.
Otherwise, today was kind of shitty.
I agree. Would also like to see some of the young defensive talent see some action... Maybe against a lesser opponent when the game has gone out of reach.
i think jc will definitely be a pretty big part of the offense this year...i would love to see them get caleb out there too so he can get a head start for the 2013 push.

screw em, he's a hoo
he'll be gone in a few years
