Anyone else catching on to the fact that them wearing orange does nothing? Both teams have the same colors...you're fucked either way.
You know....I was wondering where the highlights were? Oh wait, what highlights? 38-0.
Between doing stuff at work. I tried to mix in his arrogance, ignorance, redundancy, and hypocrisy throughout so it took a while.
my goodness how long did this take
Great point dwalt- I didn't even think of the history of our coaching staff really coaching 'em up and getting 110% of the potential of all the recruits.
That's true too- many holes already need to be filled and losing Bud AND Torian would be a death knell- forget about another ten win season or ACCCG appearance if both go. Honestly though, I think the staff will remain in tact if someone else gets the Pitt gig and the result of the PSU search, which is apparently on from what it sounds like on ESPN. But can you imagine if Pitt stole Tressel? Man, him and Beamer in the same Conference? (Whistle....) It would be interesting.
Hey, someone finally found my video of some use (Sugar Bowl game against Texas). I have a bunch more highlight videos. Not as good as some of the others I have seen, but I try to do a good job recapping our big plays from those games. I love tracking down old games and making highlights out of them. I keep telling my wife that they will go "semi-viral" some day. Maybe this is a start. Hopefully I will be able to make more soon.
Odds that Jack Tyler wrecked it. #Likely
As a graduate of VCU art school i'd be embarassed to put this up with me in it and say that i did it and actually be proud of it. This is the most pompus thing i've ever seen that completley lacks any creativity. Someone should tell this dude that just because you got iMovie on the iMac that your lawyer daddy bought you, don't mean you should make a movie without reading the instructions first. The effects are worse than an 80's music video, the dubovers in the song are horrible, and yea, those guys are definitley never getting laid.
HAHA i also love the lack of any scenes from the VT-UVa game
"1) They use images of Charlottesville to insinuate Auburn is hillbilly."
I had the exact same thought.
Also, I haven't seen that much sparkling since the last installment of Twilight was released.
Well done, sir.
38-0
Wilson's backup is Josh Oglesby (90 carries 336 yards), and that's really the end of our running back depth. Quite a contrast from having Wilson, Oglesby, Williams and Evans on the roster last year. If Josh O gets his touches, and has a chance to get into the flow of the game, like against ECU (9 carries, 46 yards, 2 TDs), he's a capable back. However, he struggles in spot duty off of the bench.
I'd argue any running game analysis of Michigan or VT would be incomplete without mentioning Denard and Logan Thomas. For Tech, LT3 is as important running the ball as Wilson because of his reliability to gain the tough yards between the tackles. Denard adds a whole other dimension to Michigan's rushing attack. When you consider each teams quarterback and number one running back it sounds like a push to me.
There's no way these kids can be serious. Its ridiculous
And as far as the match-up, I don't think anyone gives a shit about a game featuring two teams and four mascots
Touchthebanner posted a running backs preview of the Sugar Bowl here:
http://touchthebanner.blogspot.com/2011/12/running-back-preview-michigan-vs.html
I encourage folks to read it.
Highlights:
Wilson is the more accomplished back. He leads Toussaint in yardage and yards per carry. Wilson has at least one explosive play (20+ yards) in 10 out of his 13 games, and his only sub-80-yard rushing effort of the season came against Clemson in the ACC Championship. Toussaint is also less effective and almost non-existent in the passing game (5 catches, 14 yards, 1 touchdown) than Wilson. Fortunately for Michigan the Wolverines have significantly more depth at the position with two backups who have starting experience and a fullback who can run a little bit, too. If there's an injury to either running back, Michigan is more able to withstand the blow.
Running back play is largely dependent on the offensive line (which we'll discuss another day), but this is a near wash when both teams are at full strength. Wilson is not only the First Team All-ACC running back, but has also been voted the conference's top overall player and was recently voted to the All-America team. Toussaint would very likely have been All-Big Ten if not for the early-season platoon and missing one game due to injury. With a superior fullback and experienced, potentially explosive backups, I have to give the advantage to . . .
Advantage: Michigan
I don't really think I agree, I think Wilson is better athlete and a better runner. We have a wide array of backs, big backs, speed backs, etc. I'm not that familiar with VT's backs but I have watched Wilson enough to understand he is the better back.
I agree that there is something that we don't know that is keeping Bud from landing a HC job at a legit BCS school. I feel like it would have happened by now if there wasn't something holding him back. Based on listening to him on Hokie Hotline I can understand why some AD's might not be 100% sold on him and the fact that his hybrid defense is probably not something with a very high success rate in the first 2-3 years of the transition. His defense also gets destroyed by superior talent at least once every year and usually on prime time TV.
I also think that Tressel might be an even better fit for PITT because he is so familiar with the area and has a solid record as a HC. If you think about it, PITT could really be on the rise in the next few years. Between moving to the ACC and the anticipated fall of Penn State due to the Sandusky madness it is an opportune time to take over the State. If Tressel recognizes this then he may jump on the opportunity. I would...
My fear is that PITT may realize that if old timer Frank Beamer can win the ACC with 2 star recruits on a regular basis... why don't we hire Frank's best coach and see if we can do it too. Bud is also familiar with PA recruiting and obviously knows what it takes to win the ACC. When Graham left for ASU he took a few staff members with him. It would be disastrous if we lost two of our best coaches, two of our best players to the NFL (Jayron and DW), basically the entire O Line and the top two receivers in school history. Next year's stacked team might not be so stacked.
I am always a cautious thinker and I get nervous about big changes.

...is just starting to get used to making fun of the hoos.

I really don't know what my favorite part is, but the audio editing issues are pretty extraordinary and prevalent, so I'll go with them. But also, it almost makes me sad that we beat them back into the Stone Age...almost.
but Auburn's got it:

And it came with a shout-out to TKP, nonetheless.
i couldn't get through the whole thing. that was horrendous.
go hokies bitch.
Minnifield staring off into space as his draft stock drops a bit after getting owned by their rival's third receiver on more than one occasion, London telling Joesph everything will be ok and that it will be over soon...."their tears taste of despair!"- Eric Cartman
Longlosthokie- Jets, Vikes, or Falcons fan? From the similar tone to my rantings of Brett "trying to get Jenn Sterger to ride my private Jet" Favre sounds like a fellow Jet fan to me. If not sorry for the mix-up in advance.
I am convinced Eric emailed said "thank you" in the politest manner possible (wishing he had shook Bill's hand), then told all his friends about the man who graced him. Seriously, this was a bitch-slap backhand of biblical proportions conducted in the most polite and educated way possible.
I thought the best comment was the 33,400 Spring game and Bill addressing Eric by his first name just as you parents, mentor, or teacher does when they embarrassingly correct you but "lessen the blow" so to speak. That's right Eric- he compared your fanbase to a hungover spring game crowd. Now say thank you and get on with your life. Enjoy the relevance while it lasts.
I love how very terribly dubbed over this is. Makes even the worst anime dubs look amazing :P
Fuck, I'm a dork
I am utterly sick of hearing about the selection of this bowl game. I am at the same time utterly excited about this match up. I couldn't be more dissapointed in the media and more excited by the opponent than I am right now. I guess this is fair because if the media had its way Michigan would be playing Boise State and their impressive MWC schedule [rolleyes], or Kansas State and their fluke of a season. The way it was selected is perfect. Michigan on the comeback trail gets to play an ACC powerhouse. A perennial top 10 team, a legend of a coach, in a match-up of athlete versus athlete.
I will be glued to the set as this game unfolds. I am biased, but I think this game presents an intriguing match up for many reasons. Defense oriented teams, athletic offenses, coaches with years of experience...this game has it all. I am not a fan of most things ESPN - and their distaste for this game only further resolves my stance that they are clueless about a great many things.
When these two titans meet on the field, I will be excited and most likely be yelling loud enough for my neighbors to hear me. Logan Thomas, Denard Robinson, David Wilson, Mike Martin, Jayron Hosley - I'm getting pumped up as I write this. Don't listen to the media Hokies! This is a match up that we will remember for many years to come!

But did you draw your avatar? Because that's one of the best I've seen.
