Tyler Weis kicked in the Duke game when Journell was out with an injury and then Justin Myer had an attempt at the long ones in the UNC and UVA games.
Journell was supposed to be that legit kicker, he's the first kicker since Shayne Graham to receive a scholarship for it...
Fucking moron.
..score a touchdown every drive, go for 2.
One of the things I've always liked about this site is the overall lack of negativity, whether it be towards other teams and their fans or other Hokie's opinions, and I think an upvote only system reinforces that mentality.
Braxton Miller is a physical, fast and smart runner. He did a lot of damage to us. We also faced mobile quarterbacks all season long (IU/NWU/UNL/OSU). I'm more worried about the passing game than Thomas's legs.
What??! Dude this isn't miami, what's up with an arrest for breaking and entering with a gun and drugs involved? And why a place with one of our basketball players? Agree that they look beat up...good. Like our kicking game hasn't been the worst in VT history already. Anyone know who the backup kicker is?? I know we joke about Coale but at least he punted in high school, doubt he kicks too. Ugh... Again, we really need to start recruiting some legit kickers. If you were an amazing HS kicker on the east coast what is there not to like about VT's special teams history...recruit!!
I wouldn't be surprised if Danny Coale could potentially be up to the task.
Its funny when you hear announcers talk about him they have similar comments...minus our buddies Craig James (oh the irony) and Jesse Palmer. I re-watched the UNC game a few weeks ago out of sheer boredom (that weird period in school where you have nothing due but the end is looming on the horizon) and they both said his speed was deceptive: not as fast a Tyrod or MV7/MV5 but still faster than 85% of QB's when he hits top end. I think that is where we will have the advantage in a sense because Michigan seemingly has not faced a QB with this blend of size, speed, and purely animal instincts of running people over and taking their lunch money and collective prides. I would be shocked if we didn't run a few read options in the first series, let alone for the entire game. Their DT's are stout and disgustingly good but LT3 obviously knows how to truck at 6'6' QB at 254. If he's angry.....oh boy.
the dudes look like they were in a serious fight.

We had a similar home invasion charge this year involving a second string safety. It came out weeks later that it was much less serious than reported. We've all seen it. Best thing to do is let it play out and withhold judgement.
Danny Coale is a master of all things football. He shall kick!
idiot. that is all there really is to say. what was THE KICKER doing?! REALLY? I see the only way he kicks again is if the charges are dropped, otherwise he gets the boot.
However, the article did suggest that there was more than just a home invasion, that is that it may have been the extension of a fight or altercation. I don't think that changes anything though.
Justin Myer for #ALLTHEKICKS
Our place kicker of the future finished after being arrestted for being an idiot. Now we HAVE to offer Dillon Christopher a scholarship next year. I sure hope Branthover can learn to kick in a hurry. Very sad news..
UM has played 10 bowl-bound teams this year. Other teams that have played more than 8:
Okie State, LSU. Y U NO PLAY TOUGH GAMES BAMA?
According to the glorious big brother, I mean the Worldwide Leader, Pitt just hired Chryst pending checks. Very interesting. From the comments I read some Pitt fans are wetting themselves because he coached up Russel Wilson. I really don't see anyone with Wilson's talent on the Pitt squad at the QB position so............yeah. I don't think they got that memo about how RW16 was a great QB who only needed to be taught some of the intricacies about the system for Badrinath Badgers. I think its a solid hire but I feel about this like I did when my Jets hired Eric Mangini: name recognition but you have no idea what you're going to get. I wonder how Foster must feel at this second: rumor has it that Chryst doesn't interview well either.

Do what's best for your wallet. I got a better deal on Flight + Hotel than I expected so I snatched it up on Tuesday. I did buy my tix from the school from HokieTix but at this point with the allotment slowing to a halt anyone going last minute will have high enough travel expenses. No need to feel bad about saving on tix to spend more on ALL THE BOURBON.
After weeks of convincing myself that I couldn't afford it and that my boss wouldn't let me take off, a Hannukkah miracle happened on Wednesday! I casually mentioned something about the game to my boss, and he not only told me that it would be no problem for me to take off, but actually encouraged me to go. I'll be staying with a friend uptown, so don't know how much I'll make it down to the quarter, but I'm totally down for a meetup.
On a somewhat related note, what are everybody's plans for tailgating on gameday. I've been to the two previous Sugar Bowls and it seemed like everybody just partied on Bourbon St. and then walked up to the Dome at game time. I'll probably be doing the same thing this year, but was just wondering if anybody knew if there was any sort of actual organized activity going on at the Dome parking lots. I assume there will be some sort of "fan fest" type event, but is that worth checking out?
One last question, because I don't see any other active topics to post this in, at this point does it matter if I buy tickets through the school or not? I'll gladly buy directly from VT, but there are some really really cheap tix on stubhub right now.
GEAUX HOKIES!!!!!
And Brian did a great job. The one thing Im noticing from Michigan Glitters is the perception that LT is slow. Brian doesn't really say that here but I've seen others say that. When you watch LT on TV, he can looking slow due to his straight up running style. With that said, LT is fast! Not Tyrod Taylor fast but certainly above average speed. With Michigan's style of defense, running either DE or LT up the middle will be an uphill battle. However, running to the outside I think could be quite productive. I think we see VT run a lot of spread formations and get the ball to the WRs and DE on the edges and I wouldn't be shocked if we ran the true option a couple of times in this game
I love that we have a Recruiting forum here. Hope more people with the inside scoop can hook us up more often. I look at quick snapshots of info on hokiehaven.com but not all about paying for the full info. Would it be "wrong" of someone with an account to post info on this site?...
If i can't figure out how to pronounce your school's name we shouldn't be playing you...
Ok seriously i just watched that GIF repeat like 20 times. That look on his face when he realized he goofed just made my morning so much better!
I'll give you that. I like the orange but if only on the sides that would be cool too.
I don't like how the extend all the way up to the shoulder. If they were just some trim on the sides I'd be all for them.
The only thing football-related that I've seen that's better than #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING is Ali Larter in a whipped cream bikini.

We might need to call the young lady back that tried out at kicker in the preseason. Oh, and as long as we have LT3 running every red zone trip into the end zone, we should give that precious scholarship to a punter.
