Are those numbers just FBS?
If so, that's 25 players per team.
If that includes FCS, that's 13 per team.
If that's all levels of NCAA, that's about 5.25 per team.
I agree, we need to improve our FG%. A poor night should be 45-48%. A good night should be 49-52%. And a great night should be 53% plus.

Or how screwed up its always been. Imagine all the players in the past locked into a school with no hope of playing time that could have gone elsewhere to another school and find success. history of college football would be monumentally different.
What makes the portal distasteful is the NIL money moves that go with it.

If you are a D1 WR and your coach isn't telling you Rule #1 then you dont have a D1 WR coach. If you can touch it, you can catch it.
QBs throwing mechanics can make it difficult but if your role is to receive the ball then it doesn't matter how it gets there, you catch it.
Brooks started at Tech Spring of 2023 so coached Tuten through Spring ball before his first season but more look at Tutens jump year over year. 863 yards year one in 13 games to 1159 yards in 11 games in year two. Improved almost 50 yards per game and scored 5 more TDs.
Brooks was at VT 3 years which is how long ago tuten transfered to VT
Brooks replaced Bowen as he moved to QB after Glenn left.

To be fair, tuten was there before brooks. So it wasn't like it was just him getting/coaching RBs.
Yeah Love didnt touch the ball enough to warrant the Heisman. If Jeanty didnt win last year with 2X Love's yards and TDs against a slightly worse SOS no way Love was winning. Sad part is he still got the invite which speaks to how mediocre individual performances were this season beyond Mendoza and Pavia.
The QB from North Texas Mestemaker was honestly the most impressive story in football this year. Freshman QB that never even started a game at QB in high school led the nation in passing yards with 4,129 yards and threw second most TDs. Had 500 more passing yards than #2.
Love was 4th in nation in yards. He and Johnson from Nebraska were both receiving backs though which separated them some.
VT running backs have been the only highlight we've had. It was the one thing we could hang our hat on say "Yeah, this is good". Better have an upgrade coming and not just shuffling around people on staff to make the pieces fit
41% floor shooting has to improve. This is where I think Trent could help since Petersen hasn't been scoring either. Carleigh and Nelson shooting 6 for 19 is rinse and repeat. Really needed Kate Sears this season.

He was, but watch some of those highlights if you haven't recently. He was one slippery motherfucker on the field. Seemed like he couldn't be tackled at times kinda like MV7. Playing a different speed than everyone else.
MV7 also was throwing to Andre Davis who could run by everyone.
I only saw bits and pieces of the game. But looking at the stats I see two good things... 1) only 9 turnovers. this is much improved. need to keep this up. 2) Anyia Trent... career high 7 rebounds, career high 3 assists, career high 2 blocks. All this with only 1 personal foul. She did not score, she was 0-1 FG. But that's OK. I don't think we're looking to her to be a major scoring threat anyway.

Will reserve judgment until we see who is announced but Brooks was probably the #1 guy I would have favored to keep.
Since ND is more interested in having a temper tantrum than playing Football, if it was Seider it seems like they would have announced already.
This will also impact our connection to the The St James Academy as Overton's father is the head coach there. They are recruiting a high number of the top kids in the DMV to play for them.
I would say that nastiness of the offensive line we haven't seen since Ryan Williams/Darren Evan's time. Grove was just a completely different level of nastiness that most schools would not see.

On3 only tracks D1 and D2 they anticipate moving up I believe. For many schools, this is the first time adjusting to the 105 person rosters as it technically wasnt official this season. Still may not effect the number as much as coaching turnovers and accounting for playing time opportunities.
