eh, a lot of doublespeak in that article. many of the things he credits Campbell with are things that Franklin has handled so proficiently that his recruiting prowess is what stands out. Article credits Campbell for 'hiring a personnel guy right away - bringing his GM from Iowa st along... guess what? Franklin did the same thing when he was hired by VT, except he brought his GM and a half-dozen others. And I'm certain that any any quality coach is going to get his personnel people in place ASAP at a new job.

I am still offended on his behalf that the only reason he didn't win the Heisman was the committee admitting they would not give it to a freshman. Then they reversed that decision several years later.

Terry Smith staying at PSU will likely counter alot of Campbell's shortfalls as a recruiter especially in the MidAtlantic. That was another reason I was hoping he would take the UConn or Memphid job as HC

The ONLY thing you said was "I don't think you can say this for certain." Which is just a denial of what he said without giving any substantiation as to why you say that. What roles/responsibilities make you think a head coach (who isn't also the DC - which you said he was for a year, which I countered) is tied to performance of the defense?
Plus, after I said he wasn't DC for a year, you changed your story to the HC and DC have overlapping roles.
AND, when challenged on him being a good DC, you changed your narrative to that he can only be good with elite talent.
You keep changing and finding excuses to try to support your view that he is a poor candidate as DC.
