Tomlin maybe? Does Deboer feel the heat if he doesn't make the championship? Would Dabo go north? I don't think there is another G5 coach they would hire. Also don't see any coordinators that Michigan would be comfortable to hire. They have to at least talk to Brian Kelly I think, but he may be done now.

So who do they hire? There aren't any G5 coaches left that they would hire. Every other top P4 coach just extended or were hired by a new school. Does Deboer feel the heat if they don't win or get to the championship game this year? Is Tomlin available and would they go there. I don't think there is another coordinator in the country they would be comfortable hiring. Does Dabo think about it?

So the offseason blues have hit, managed to dredge up a 6 and 7 pound largemouth for the father in law last sunday deadsticking creature baits around a spring fed pond but those were the only bites in 6 hours.
Pushing a canoe with a kid, dog, and the wife is getting more and more fun and I'm beginning to do my research into a raft for floating the james/new/shenandoah. I would love some input to worthwhile brands and brands to avoid as I know little on the floating rafts as I've always been a hard plastic guy. Not trying to break the bank but we float most weekends the rivers arent flooded so it will get some use.
Also spending alot of time rebuilding trolling motors for clubs and currently finding myself annoyed with people who destroy the motors with no care in the world. Between gaskets leaking and shear pins being snapped I'm thankful minn kota makes rebuilding the lower units easy enough.

I find the michigan job interesting this late in the cycle. Who do they realistically look at? Is Brian Kelly interested, do they look to the NFL even or make everyones day and steal a new coach somewhere smaller that would jump at the money?

You know what story was incredible to me on him. It didnt even happen on the field. It happened on a basketball court in Nashville. Team was forced indoors because of weather before the Music City Bowl. His teammates I had classes with in the spring told me at one point during that practice Vick went to midcourt and threw the football clean swish into the basket left handed. Then he went to full court and threw right handed and another swish. Most people dont know that Vick is essentially ambidextrous. He writes right handed but throws left handed because he was able to generate more power with his left arm.

If you watched the preseason interviews, Moore was quite bearish on the OL, acknowledging that there was talent but lacking experience and depth.

So I don't think last year was an indictment of him

If he'd stayed maybe he wins a heisman, and maybe we win a natty. Maybe he gets hurt and becomes a massive what if?

As fun as it is to think about what could've been if he'd stayed longer, I can't help but get a bit frustrated that we couldn't use the moment we got from Vick to get a better replacement when he left than Grant Noels.

I was privileged enough to be in school in the fall of '99 and see him play. I used to tell people it was like watching Michael Jordan take over a basketball game. The all around athleticism, explosiveness, and arm haven't been matched since, IMO.

They think every game will make millions upon millions tune in. When in fact everyone is tuning out. Including to them. They aren't immune to waning interest.

This is my take as well. Yes, Vick was an incredible player. But more importantly, he was truly the first of his kind.

We ascribe the label "generational" to players once every five years it seems. But players who change how the game is played for future generations... that's the true meaning of a generational player imo
