Senior Day FAM!
FAM!
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.
FAM!
I have noticed this season that the voice of Lane stadium is different than I remember for the past 20 years. Did I miss an article or forum topic to discuss this change before the season started? I hope our original PA announcer didn't pass away or anything.
Watching both the VT game and UT-UGA CBS game of the week today, and the CBS crew (Gary Danielson, I believe) was talking about what Hooker said about transferring from VT. The general quote they relayed from Hooker was (my paraphrase), "I'm just really enjoying playing for a coaching staff that lets me play my game, instead of trying to fit into an offense that I don't fit into."
Not trying to beat a dead horse. But, this is the first time I've heard Hooker comment on the situation, after transferring.
God has blessed me to be able to play my last game in Lane Stadium🙏🏽😭 Now let's get to business🍽 https://t.co/0FYWkI0vO7— Tré Turner (@tre11turner) November 12, 2021
Just chiming in to say that UNC and Pitt are now going to OT
Also, how hard is everyone smashing the parlay button on Clemson/UCONN this week? This Clemson team by -41? O/U 51? Smashing UCONN to cover and taking the under.
Due to offensive linemen only being able to wear Nos. 50-79, he will return to his normal number of 79 for the game— Virginia Tech Football (@HokiesFB) November 11, 2021
Can't wear it during the game, but glad the 15th year senior gets the 25 for Pregame at least.
My wife surprised me with a trip down to Miami to see the Holies play. I'm looking for food recommendations, anyone know of a tailgate to stop at, other recommendations pre or post game? Thanks.
Bring me the body of Billy Napier!
Or Chadwell
Or Pry
Or Freeman
Some senior day news from the press conference.
Justin Fuente is here speaking with reporters. Said he expects more than 20 players to participate in Senior Day. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) November 8, 2021
Jack Tyler, Cody Grimm, Will Montgomery and Sam Rogers immediately come to mind, hoping the Hokie historians here can enlighten me on some others.
LB Dax Hollifield, who's in his fourth year, said he's coming back next season. "I'm not a senior." Said he has unfinished business here at Virginia Tech. Doesn't want to go out like this. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) November 9, 2021
David Cutcliffe took the phrase "Dookie" to heart by continually demonstrating to everyone the size of his bowel movements.
Mods, please modify thread as more news/details comes out.
Hearing from current players that Justin Fuente has coached his final game at Virginia Tech.— Delusional Hokie (@HokieDelusional) November 6, 2021
This loss wasn't just about losing BB3 and Tre to injury, this is cumulative 6 years of our program going downhill under Fuente. There is really no vision, consistency or identity to our program.
Since Fuente has gotten here, the recruiting has been down
There is lack of development of 3-star players
The roster management has been downright irresponsible
The play calling has been highly questionable
In general, I see no sense of urgency from the coaches when we are down
The decision-making as Seen in the Liberty game as a head coach is very lackluster.
Time to make the move
Crazy report by ESPN on the "dead money" in college coaching. The SEC is currently paying $123M to fired coaches.
Puts some perspective on the buyout we are looking at as well as the financial landscape around coaches contracts.
Not sure how many of y'all remember as it's been a few years, but it's about that time of year when I put together my massive Coastal Division spreadsheet. Heading into tonight's game, there are 14 conference games remaining featuring at least one Coastal Division team, leading to a total of 16,384 possible permutations of the season from this point on. My spreadsheet looks at every one of these permutations and calculates a champion for each one as well as the relative probability of that permutation and spits out totals for each team.
Just smashed some edibles, who is ready for tonight?
What are you drinking?
What are you smoking?
If this is your first notice of other games this week, you've already missed Ball State take out Akron, Ohio beat Miami (OH), and EMU surprise Toledo.
Great news, though- Maction continues tonight! Former Hokie Khalil Pimpleton just took a punt back to the end zone to put CMU closer to WMU before the half. And NIU is up on Kent read tonight.
Thursday is a slow night, with only Georgia State playing ULL tomorrow.
On Friday, after our road trip out to the great state of Massachusetts (literally- I'm going to that one!), Utah and Stanford is on PAC 12 after dark.
Saturday's early ACC slate includes Pitt @ Duke, #9 Wake @ UNC and Georgia Tech @ Miami. Only NCSt and FSU are on after that.
After making a career-high four field goals last game, Romo will wear No. 25 this Friday against Boston College pic.twitter.com/AEKzuxgBBF— Virginia Tech Football (@HokiesFB) November 3, 2021
