Andy put together a well-researched article on the Athletic that anonymously interviewed seven different high school coaches in Virginia and asked for their views on VT, UVA and other in-state schools on their recruiting effort.
As you can imagine, it's a bit of a mixed bag - Some coaches lamented the release of Zohn, some talk about the lack of contact with the coaching staff, some don't like the #TX2VT movement, some think they've done a good job.
It's a good read, I would recommend going through if you have an athletic account.
We're all fans of alternative "Sandman" versions. Enjoy Bill McClintock's version while we wait for ND next week.
From VT Scoop
"Braxton wants to be able to do anything we want him to do," Cornelsen said later in the interview. "I know he understands what's going on. I know he sees it well out there. I know he feels like he can execute anything we put in front of him. But that communication of what he feels the best about going into the week and during the games is something that is a continuous process between him and I."
I'm sorry but I have read this numerous times and I can't figure out especially the last sentence. Is it communication or execution or both?
Dunno how many of you caught the Packers @ 49ers game last Sunday night, but Yosh Nijman started at LT for the Packers due to Bakhtiari being out with an injury. Happened to see this article talking about the job he did, which was pretty impressive considering he was making his first NFL start and facing off against Nick Bosa. Talk about trial by fire!
Joe, if this is noise please delete. I felt to post based on the context of our discussions regarding the current coaching staff.
New #DonVFridays with Hokie legend Jerod Evans. Enjoy the Bye week bruvs 🔥🔥🔥🔥 https://t.co/8S0qfRmK8s— Légend (@DonV757_) September 28, 2021
Fuente has beef with Jerod. Jerod tiptoes around the word, but points more toward his treatment after the 2016 season.
Just got an email from the school announcing it. There's also some single game tickets for it left for sale.
For some reason I had it in my head that Fuente lead teams have not performed well off the bye week. Pulling up our past records shows some interesting results...
Saw this posted on 247 (credit TabbHokie and JTitalian) and thought I'd share.
Selhini put together a very solid argument for the case of Justin Hamilton replacing Fuente as head coach. I would like to proffer an alternative; the retention of Justin Fuente as head coach. I'm not saying one way or another if I want it to happen, but these are what I'm seeing as the bits of data that would support keeping him.
We all know it, the dreaded Fuente bye week.
This bye weeks sucks so much, even Corn wants to run the score up on it.
Only a month into the season, five teams still haven't played a conference game, and the ACC is already wide open for anybody, with the preseason favorites already behind.
Let's keep tabs on who's got a chance and who's already dug themselves into a hole.
Atlantic

Needs help:
-Clemson (1-1) needs two NC State losses.
-FSU (0-2) needs losses by WF (3), Louisville (3), and additional losses by NC State, BC, and Syracuse.

Is everybody too busy being angsty to just watch some ball??
Let's go Deacs!
On a cool evening on October 9, 2008, in Winston-Salem NC, Clemson was out of answers. When Tommy Bowden was hired in 1999 he was supposed to lead Clemson to their first ACC Title since 1991. Instead, Clemson was 3-3 for the season with a Thursday night loss to Wake Forest. By late Monday morning, Tommy Bowden would no longer be Clemson's Head Coach.
"You can't lose to Wake Forest on Thursday night," Tommy Bowden says. "You just can't do it."
Check out this video showing what an absolute class act Coach Beamer is. Man, if this were my son, would I be ever so proud. From one proud father to another, you done good Frank.

After watching Clemson's offense falter against the vaulted Yellow Jackets does a team not from Clemson SC has a real shot of winning the Atlantic Coast Conference. Do I think its gonna happen but we can all agree that Clemson offense is awful and it may be the fault of Tony Elliot. Im sure Dabo will figure things out sooner than later but from what we have seen so far the Tigers do not look good offensively. I think a team like Carolina realistically has the best shot they have a great offense and an ok D which might just be enough to beat the tigers, but im curious to hear yalls thoughts.
